There is nothing quite like watching a group of campers sewing together on a lovely summer day. The older ones naturally help the youngest, patiently showing them how to untangle their needle and thread. And at the end, each camper had a little pouch to fill...with an acorn from the land, a cinquefoil leaf for protection, a bit of their medicine plant, and a pinch of tobacco to remind them to always ask permission to harvest and give thanks.
Sneaking into @patternreview ‘s Each One Teach One Summer challenge here at the end of August. Little niece asked to learn to sew. Today she made herself a new little blanket and patched up an old one. Threaded the machine like a pro. Not sure the whole process was as exciting as she thought it would be, but hopefully she’ll catch the “me-made” bug.
Do you have primary aged children that love to sew? This is my ‘Stitching with Jane Foster’ cross - stitch book that I did with @quartocreates a while ago now - it contained press out cardboard illustration that children can sew through and make things with. I’ve a few signed copies left in my web shop!
Looking for something fun for the kids to do after school? We have the answer - learn to sew at Hello Stitch! Kids 8 and up can learn a life-long skill, exercise their creativity, and have a great time as well. Every Wednesday from 3-5pm. 12 week session starts on Sept. 12th. Sign up before August 28th and get a $50 early registration discount!
Thank you Stephanie for a beautiful day yesterday. 💕

Thank you Kim for planning such a wonderful class and encouraging these kids to be creative! They are so proud of their work. (And I had a fantastic time time being your assistant!) #kidssewing#creativityforkids#sewingprojectsforkids
Friday saw the end of the final Fashion Week for this summer. The girls were fantastic all week and produced garments that would have aced GCSE Textiles (despite them being aged 10-13 years old!). Make sure you swipe through to see their amazing makes ☺️ We are so proud of them all and they should serve as inspiration to anyone wanted to learn how to sew - look what’s possible! We cannot wait to do it all again next year! . . .
Look at that concentration face! 12 produce bags finished ready for STEM tomorrow. Hannah completed all the sewing. These bags will hold fruit and veg in her classroom for 2 weeks. Don’t think they’ll be getting used again 🤢
The kids have thoroughly enjoyed using the Epic embroidery machine this week at the @youre.sew.creative Fashion Week, make sure you have a scroll through to see their amazing creations.
I know I’ve said it all week, but this machine is amazing, and so user friendly that these 10-13 year olds have used it without a hitch all week.
Now the madness of Fashion Week is over, its time to have a play on this amazing machine, and the countless features, myself! . . .
Happy Friday everyone! I hope if you started school this week that it’s been a good week for you. Here’s a couple of handmade plushies made by creative kiddos in the studio to brighten the day. Have a great weekend 🌟
Câmaras e microfones misturados com máquinas de costura e moldes? Que bela combinação. Viram o @agoranos de ontem? Vão ver para descobrir o que elas estiveram a dizer à @inescarranca.oficial. Foi mesmo muito giro! Link na bio.
