Sample Workout – CORE Kettlebell 2.0
-
1 WARM UP
Do the following circuits twice, no rest between circuits. Each exercise
should be done for 30 seconds.
– Alternating shoulder taps
– Bodyweight squats
– Cross body mountain climbers
– High knees
-
2 MAIN WORKOUT
Workout #7 – Get as many reps as you can of each exercise in the time
written.
Your rest is simply the amount of time that it takes you to transition
between exercises, but the clock keeps running.
Rest for about 90 seconds at the end of the first round, and repeat the
full circuit two times:
– As many pull ups OR inverted rows as possible in 30 seconds
– As many push ups OR knee push ups as possible in 60 seconds
– As many two hand KB swings as possible in 90 seconds
– As many walking KB lunges as possible in 120 seconds
– As many jump rope skips OR jumping jacks as possible in 150 seconds

Here is another good workout that showcases the versatility of free weights (e.g. kettlebells, dumbbells, and barbells) 👌🏻
Kettlebells enable you to combine strength and cardio training helping to improve overall muscular endurance. In addition, as opposed to the dumbbell or the barbell where the weights are evenly distributed on both sides, the kettlebell handle is outside of the mass therefore making it less stable. Therefore the KB requires more power to be exerted and greater muscular stabilisation to move the weight helping to improve overall strength and coordination 💪
This workout is an example how kettlebells can be used to work the whole body🤗
5 rounds for time of:
🔸10 kettlebell swings (eye height if you are new to the movement) - keep the weight in your heels and drive forward with the hips)
🔸10 kettlebell weighted squats - keep your chest up and drive your knees out)
🔸10 kettlebell weighted lunges (alternating legs) - keep your forward knee stacked over your ankle, don’t over or under extend)
🔸30 second kettlebell hollow hold (shoulders off the ground, engage the core, and point your toes)
Rest as necessary between sets. You should choose a weight where you can go unbroken on all movements. Let me know if you have any questions 🤔

A little follow up from Monday's post on the Turkish GetUp with a a demo by lead instructor @ironclubathletics

Here Zach is demonstrating a Banded TGU. This is an advanced version of what we saw in the pause style of GetUp from the other day.
.

We recommend newer/novice athletes to stick with pauses to round out their GetUp. However, this is a great training and feedback tool for those with more experience with the bells.
.

Many strong athletes will maintain proper tension through their trunk during the GetUp. But those same athletes can be seen becoming lazy with the support arm, and not keeping it packed down or allowing the bell to helicopter around as they get to the standing or kneeling positions.
.

The obvious result of the band is a slight pull away from the athlete, forcing them to tension and keep the weight secure. This method also increases the weight of the position as you stand.
.

Doing this style of lift for 10 reps, or even alternating under control for 10 minutes is a excellent workout. Be sure to allow yourself to work a proper start coming from the ground, while the load is still lighter, to become more proficient in area where we see many folks having issues.

Been reading more about the overall health benefits of intermittent fasting and completed my second 24 fast this year earlier today. Broke it with some jasmine rice because I had two hours until gym time and I knew I would digest easily. Now getting in the greens as part of dinner. Incidentally, I also reached my goal tonight of squatting and pressing the 73lb kettlebell over my head-twice. 7pm Monday night one hour just working with #kettlebellswings #kettlebellbiceps #kettlebellsquats #kettlebellworkout #kettlebellrows #kettlebelldeadlifts today supersets of all  these days I row a 20kg left and right swing a 12 or  14kg #cleanandpress right and left  8kg 10kg...squat a 12 or 14kg.. 1 year ago I started pressing 6kg multiple reps just .. to see how it was ...then I went a bit more until my body said more again..
