On Sunday I made a huge pot in my instant pot of one of my favorite Palestinian recipes bamya, essentially our version of gumbo. It’s so great to make for the whole week. I put lamb, a small onion, tomatoes, okra, garlic, bay leaves, and tons of spices in here. It’s the true comfort food and doesn’t need the rice or bread it usually comes along with. One of my favorite things to do the last few years has been to make our traditional recipes keto. It’s really not that hard and it’s so fun to do. Ham, egg and pepper jack cheese sandwich on 90 sec bread.
3 Tbsp almond flour or 1 Tbsp coconut flour
1/2 tsp double acting baking powder
I added onion and garlic powder or if you want it sweeter for a strawberry short cake etc, you can add sweetener and vanilla.
Melt butter in microwave save bowl or ramekin. Add other ingredients, mix well. Microwave 90 sec. Flip onto plate and cut in half. Toast or grill.

STOP THE PRESSES! 📰 Fried halloumi on kale salad is LIFE!
I'd been hearing about #halloumi off and on, but had never seen it in my grocery store or on a menu. Then I came across it, in between the feta and the brie. The texture is more like a dry mozzarella.
I chose not too Google a preparation and followed the package's directive of "great for grilling or frying." Note that you do need a good layer of oil for a pan fry or it will just melt.
The result is reminiscient of fried cheese curds, but a little denser and a little more salty. So it's like that last curd at the bottom of your basket at the point you are feeling regret for eating a basket of fried cheese curds at the fair.
I totally would not know what that is like. 😂😂😂
I have a post from a few weeks ago about the salad, but it contains chopped and rinsed kale, sliced pepperoncini, pistachios, avocado, parmesan, and a lemony red wine vinaigrette. I usually also include green olives but three jars of them molded on me at the same time.
Why do I have three jars of green olives, you ask? They were each stuffed with something different.
Anyway, halloumi. You must fry it and eat it ASAP! 👊

I started intermittent Fasting February 2017, eating one large meal a day, insuring I get most or all of my micronutrients in that 1 hour eating window. The first month I felt faint sometimes dizzy, water with pink Salt fixed that. Also my body was coming off a refined sugar and wheat addiction, so that played a roll in that as well. 8 months in now I can control myself, no more over eating, no more blotted feeling, our bank account shows I am eating less.. no shit, like very noticeable. Aside from the weight loss, and good sleep the main thing I notice is my cognitive function! Look into it people🤙 our ancestors did not have food as readably available as we do today, we are designed to feast then fast. We have not evolved from that, and that is a fact. Look around as a society we are so unhealthy, sick and lots of it can be blamed on over consumption among tons of other things. .

The girl on the left was so defeated. Life became about just getting through the day and surviving. She felt that she was too far gone and could never get out of that hole. You guys. Apparently I can’t Pancake 😂 Looks awful but was tasty! Four eggs, 1/4 cup almond flour, vanilla, tiny tiny smidge of baking powder, cinnamon, blended. Topped with melted strawberries and sugar free syrup. Also had a Beddar Cheddar. Will have a cookies and cream premier protein with pb2 (tastes like drinking a Reeces!) to hit the protein macro.
Hey, I just found out while I was eating my breakfast, that today is national cheeseburger day. I didn't even know that was a thing, but the google gods validated that, and even offered some articles that corroborated those findings so check it out!!! All you have to do is search "national cheeseburger day deals" and you get a general list, if you insert your town you will get local places too that have joined in.
