Getting back to my roots for the next six weeks by running 5/3/1: Building the Monolith. It is a program for strength and size, and I figure there is no better time than in the summer to go all out. I’ll be taking before and after pics to keep myself accountable and to see if my hard work paid off. 
BtM day 1: 
Squats: 275x5, 315x5, 335x5x5
OHP: 95x5, 110x5, 120x5, 95x5+ for 12
100 chins with 10lbs
100 face pulls with 60lbs
100dips (50 with 25lbs, 50 with 10lbs)

⚖️ I used to weigh myself every day just as part of my routine and average out the weight on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. My weight could easily fluctuate a few pounds on a daily basis. This is even without any major dietary changes or lifestyle factors.

🤷🏻‍♂️ Who knows, maybe a bit of stress, a little more salt, or pushed extra hard at the gym contributed to the weight fluctuation.

👍🏻 Moral of the story, you probably didn't put on much (if any) fat even if you had a binge episode or a less than desirable meal over the weekend.

📅 True changes, good or bad, are a net result of what you do over a period of time, not a single meal or a single day.

I got to play in my new tennis dress! Even if we didn’t win, at least I had the best outfit and best guns on the court. Went to a third set tie breaker against a male collegiate tennis player and male high school kid. My husband and I played great, but couldn’t quite pull it out. Ready for tomorrow for a bit of redemption. I felt really good physically, but made some mistakes on my service game. Tennis is such a mental game and being in ketosis has seriously improved my mental game this year. My attitude has improved too since studying Stoicism. I feel like a different person on the tennis court. 
I have to be proud that at 38 years old, I can hang with a 20 year old and a 16 year old.
It was so 90 degrees out there and I felt amazing!

✅Keep shoulders down and focus on bringing the weight out to the sides. Go lighter if you have to.

DB Face Pulls
❌Don’t shrug shoulders. Don’t curl the weight up using your biceps.
✅Lead with the elbows. Bring your hands up towards your forehead.

DB Bent Over Wide Row
❌Don’t go too heavy. Doing so may bring in more lats and we are focusing on Rear delts.
✅Keep shoulders down (see a trend?). Extend arm at bottom to get full stretch. Lead with elbows.

Yesterday morning, I had the great idea to make a “Bulletproof” matcha tea with some avocado in it….but it actually ended up tasting more like a soup, so I just rolled with it! This is what I absolutely LOVE about cooking! I’m constantly experimenting, and if I mess up, then I improvise and it usually turns out even better!

🌀Blend the following ingredients:
1 tsp matcha powder
1 cup nearly boiling water
1/2 avocado
1 Tb @ancientorganics ghee
1 Tb @bulletproof #brainoctaine oil
22g Bulletproof collagen protein
1 chunk of ginger
Garlic powder
Black pepper
Himalayan sea salt
➡️ Then garnish with @traderjoes #everythingbutthebagel seasoning. Obvi.

✨ MY ADVICE TO THE KITCHEN NEWBIES: don’t be afraid to make mistakes in the kitchen! It takes a few mistakes to figure out what works and what your tastes are, but once you get that down, you’ll be able to tackle ANYTHING!

It helps to have your CORE SEASONINGS that you use for most dishes. My go-to’s are:
👉 Himalayan Sea Salt
👉 Fresh ground black pepper
👉 Garlic (or garlic powder if I’m lazy)
👉 Italian Seasoning

3️⃣ Limit carbohydrates (whatever that is to you) I tend to stick to under 30g of total carbohydrate

I woke up at 140.4 pounds today, another new low weight. Ketones 1.9 and blood glucose 73! Exactly one week of 90% fat ratio. Still awesome. Today I am doing a protein sparing fast. I’m starting the day with a matcha latte made with perfect ketones matcha MCT oil powder and 2 scoops of vanilla collagen powder. I’m bringing an Epic venison steak salt and pepper strip to work in case I get hungry. It has 8 grams of protein and 1 gram of fat <1 carb. Then I’m planning on making an egg white, (I saved them from all the egg yolks I’ve eaten all week), egg flour soup with bone broth tonight, maybe some ground meat. I was thinking of mixing some ground lamb and ground organ meat together for extra nutrition. I’m so excited to see how my body responds and how I feel. I kinda love self-experimenting.

Experimenting with pecans today.  I call these candied cocoa pecans. Crispy, lightly sweet, and a hint of of chocolate.

I melted a tablespoon of butter and coconut oil in a pan. Added pecans. Stirred until they smelled toasty. Added 3 tablespoons of #lakantosweetener (granulated), 2 Tablespoons of cocoa powder, and a couple dashes of sea salt. Continue cooking until everything is well coated. Remove from heat and spread out on a baking dish to cool. Store in airtight container.

There I did the stairmill HIIT 10 min, leg press, hamstring curls (after leg day yesterday), lots of speed ladder drills, cutting/pivoting drills and the spin bike for 10 min.  I fueled all my post run activities with this juicy pepper jack burger #holdthebun.

Haven't rowed for a hot minute... Decided I'd make my rest day an interval/high intensity day of some sort now.

Didn't quite get faster on every rep as prescribed since I was testing (playing) with different damper settings but tried to make up it up at the end even on a damper setting of 1 🙌🏻😂

Acl/Meniscus revived. 
2010 on the left, (right photo-current2018). I had ACL and meniscus issues (knee problems). Can barely do activities. Found ketogenic in 2015, where you can pound buffalo wings(@hooters ❤️), steaks, bacon. Saved my ass. I can run a marathon with no swelling or ball for hours and still not feeling those knee problems. Just so glad I can live like a normal human being because of this lifestyle.
