When baby is rested and less-easily awakened from naps, you're rested too (at least until the next feed). I remembered sleeping upright (from the waist up) with my then reflux-y newborn strapped to my chest in a ring sling. The ring sling is definitely a life-saver then (or rather a sleep-saver!). Caring for babies with reflux is no easy feat. Especially when you gotta make sure that the baby sits and sleeps upright to help reduce the involuntary projectile spitups that hurts the baby so much, which then disturbs his sleep, making him sleep-deprived big time. My heart ache everytime I think about it.
So, I depended on the ring sling to help both of us cope. Because that's the only way to keep the baby upright for a long time (without me numbing my arms). I then slowly managed to get out of my #zombiemom zone. And my baby, he slept better too.
If you're in the same situation, or just need an extra helping hand, give the sling a try. We all need all the sleep that we could get to function as a healthy human being, caring for another little human being.

I love watching him explore the world and see new things.
And now I love answering his questions about the world around him!
But, I am not so excited about preschool. It will only be 2 mornings a week, but I will miss him so much. And more than that it signals a whole new change. He is going to start having a life away from me. Away from home. There will be things I don't know about or understand about his life. And that breaks this mommas heart!
My only reassurance is that I have a new little one to enjoy. And I know I better enjoy it while she's little! (This is from two years ago)
