⠀⠀ starting the week off strong with my fav coffee, a solid work day and an even better workout to close 👊🏼 my nutrition has been on point for almost *two* whole weeks now and it feels AWESOME! just a (lot) sad that im like 5ft tall so i really gotta watch my fat intake.... and butter coffee is my #1 love😢 flexible dieting may not be 'cool' but it's been working for me so far and im excited to stick with it💪🏼 happy monday, fam!!!

In my time working as a coach, I've noticed that my clients who have the worst relationships with exercise coming in have the least sustainable reasons to exercise.

The two mindsets that I see most are:
1️⃣Linking exercise with food (i.e., using exercise as a way of "offsetting" the food we eat).
2️⃣Focusing on exercise solely as a way to change how our bodies look.

Without more substance, these two reasons to exercise will erode your relationship with moving your body over time. Exercise will become a chore. It will become something you don't feel connected to or get much enjoyment from. And you probably won't do it as much as you'd like to.

Exercise has to be more to us than a tool for fixing what's broken or a means to an end if we want to have a good relationship with it. That's why today on the blog I'm proposing 20 reasons to exercise that have nothing to do with weight loss or food to help you find a new and better "why" for moving your body. 👉🏽1. As you catch the transition, make sure your eyes are looking forward.

Our bodies usually travel in the direction of our gaze, and by keeping your eyes looking up, you're helping to maintain that vertical rise.

👉🏽2. Squeeze the rings into your body as you catch the transition.
.
This is going to put tension on the ring straps, making them easier to control (versus letting the rings travel away from your body, which is a really difficult position to hold yourself in).
.
👉🏽3. Always practice different grips.
.
The False Grip makes for a much easier transition, but can be a really difficult position to maintain, especially during kipping rings muscle-ups.

Our bodies usually travel in the direction of our gaze, and by keeping your eyes looking up, you're helping to maintain that vertical rise. ••• 👉🏽2. Squeeze the rings into your body as you catch the transition. . This is going to put tension on the ring straps, making them easier to control (versus letting the rings travel away from your body, which is a really difficult position to hold yourself in). . 👉🏽3. This evening I went for an outdoor run around the Brushy Creek Park. It finally stopped raining in Austin and the weather was pleasant 70 degrees! A few people showed some concerns regarding my workouts and running during pregnancy so I just wanted to say that I have my doctor’s clearance for all my workouts.

Running while pregnant is safe—if you go about it the right way. I was too exhausted in my first trimester to run(I only did incline walks) but my second trimester is the “pregnancy honeymoon,” as nausea subsided and energy returned.
Running makes me feel better and relieves anxiety—over carrying and caring for a new baby, perhaps. I don't know. I take too many breaks, I slow down, I walk a lot in between my runs, I keep a tab on my heart rate but it is all worth it because running makes me happy 🏃🏽‍♀️

Two types of 〰️ spinal rolls 〰️ for whatever feels better to you!
▫️ Child’s Pose Spinal Rolls - Tuck your toes under and really crawl your fingertips forward. On an inhale, tuck your chin and roll forward to a modified upward dog with the knees down and toes tucked. Exhale to tuck the chin and roll back. This is my #1 favorite movement I learned from @moveolution & @mobilityexercises that I do E V E R Y D A Y!
▫️ Downward Dog Spinal Rolls - a little more “yogi”, but still using the same action of tucking the chin and leading the back of the heart. If this doesn’t feel right on your low back, don’t force and it and opt for those child’s pose spinal rolls instead!
▫️ Use either one of these variations to keep your spine healthy and stay mobile for life!
Two types of 〰️ spinal rolls 〰️ for whatever feels better to you! ▫️ Child’s Pose Spinal Rolls - Tuck your toes under and really crawl your fingertips forward. On an inhale, tuck your chin and roll forward to a modified upward dog with the knees down and toes tucked. Exhale to tuck the chin and roll back. This is my #1  favorite movement I learned from @moveolution & @mobilityexercises that I do E V E R Y D A Y! ▫️ Downward Dog Spinal Rolls - a little more “yogi”, but still using the same action of tucking the chin and leading the back of the heart. If this doesn’t feel right on your low back, don’t force and it and opt for those child’s pose spinal rolls instead! ▫️ Use either one of these variations to keep your spine healthy and stay mobile for life!
