I jump at any opportunity to get out on my bike, but it's not always practical. So today I'm walking this bundle of joy😍 she's enjoying crunching through the leaves as much as I am! Another lovely morning at AbbeyField with this wonderful bunch (quite a few were feeling camera shy though!). Getting people up and active who are in their 80's and 90's (!!!) is important for so so many reasons. Though I'm convinced Geoff isn't too concerned about the health benefits, but more interested in all of the female attention!

TOP TIPS FOR LEARNING! If you're sedentary for most of the day, it's so important to get some movement in, especially if you're studying! When we exercise (even just walking) we release a protein called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). This helps existing neurons to survive and encourages growth of new ones.
My top tips 👉 1. Keep active throughout the day e.g. a lunch time walk, a few strolls around the office 👉 2. Do your exercise before or mid way through the day (research shows this gets the best results for learning) 👉 3. Take your work with you on a walk or jog. I record myself talking about a topic I need to learn and listen as I go!
I've been in house studying all day, so getting out for an evening run was the tonic I needed. I found it tough, but I'm lucky enough to run with a very friendly running club who kept me going 😊

When doing the jump I didn’t think my leg was this high at the back at all due to not being as flexible as I once was haha...old bones from being a competitive gymnast for too many years. . .
