Lucie mostly losing her shit because it’s 3 pm and she could starve to death if she doesn’t eat soon. “Who cares about my toys when my body is eating itself to survive since breakfast this morning, mum?!” #shepherdmix#rescuedog#karmarescue
Karma Rescue posts animals looking for homes to an online database of adoptable pets. This way the dogs/cats will appear in a search when potential adopters are seeking their soon-to-be animal companion. We also provide samples of adoption paperwork, tips on how to do a home visit and a Do/Don't list from which all new adopters can benefit. Laura found her new animal companion, Starr, through the program. Thank you to Mercedes for overseeing our courtesy postings program.
For the first few weeks with Goober I had to move very slowly and pet him unenthusiastically, only from the front. Now he’s plastered to me most of the time we are together. What a remarkable feeling to gain a dog’s trust.
On Sunday we have our first training session with Matt Beisner!! Just trying to keep up the hope. #therearenobaddogs#cuddlebug#endlesskisses
@istandwithmypack and @labsandfriends recently saved the lives of these four precious fur-balls with assistance from the Karma Rescue Lopez fund. Karma wants to thank a very special friend of ours for establishing the Lopez Fund, so Karma can work with local rescue groups, supporting their needs so they can, in turn, support the older, larger special angels who so deserve to be saved, just as much as a tiny pup waiting for a home. Jack, 14 year old pit bull from Baldwin Park shelter
Sage, 10 year old poodle from South L.A. shelter
Annie Mae, 10 year old labrador from Carson shelter
Sadie, 9 year old labrador from Baldwin Park
Liberty had her scan last week and the results are in. The results revealed a foreign body (plant material) that was removed (around which the bleeding appeared to be occurring) and her muzzle biopsy revealed evidence of chronic inflammation. Essentially, this is great news for Liberty since no cancer or evidence of a serious infection was found, which was our main concern.
As far as steps going forward for our Liberty, we are going to continue the diagnostic testing. There are tests such as a PCR test, SNAP test and joint aspirations to nail down if this is a vector borne disease, immune mediated disease, or infection of the joints.
We are also seeking a second opinion before putting her under anesthesia again.
We want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. We will keep you updated on Liberty’s diagnosis and her treatment plan. Meanwhile Liberty and her sister Mali are keeping each other comforted.
With love and gratitude,
Today's Karma Alumni Pup-Date comes from Daisy (fka Panda). Daisy was a tiny little puppy thrown away in a trash bag in a trash can. She was found by a Good Samaritan who reached out to Karma for help and we took her in and found her a foster in October of 2006...12 years ago!! After immediate foster failure she has been living the best life ever, is spoiled rotten and is now the eldest member of her pack!! Once a Karma Dog always a Karma Dog! We love you Daisy/Panda and wish you many more years of life and love! Thank you so much for the update! #karmarescue#karmalumni#adoptdontshop#spayandneuter#rescuedogs#adoptapitbull#rescuedogsofinstagram #
