When i started my yogajourney on instagram this was one of the first poses i saw and thought...peace of cake....As you will all know that is not the case 🤣 my ultimate goal is the two arms over my head holding my feet and my head is touching my foot! For me the feeling i have here is relaxation, i would have never thought that this would feel good and it realy does...i can go deeper...i can pull...i can show of for a pic or for you guys but i am not going to! I am just breathing and feeling the deep stretch and opening here and feeling so proud that i am here sitting in this pose while i am feeling relaxed.
This means growth to me for my body and my mind 🙏

Day 3 of #yogidecembertidings challenge and I am doing #ekapadakapotasana as the hip opening posture for the day.😊😉 How nice it is to bend the spine like this while still engaging the hips, keeping it grounded with the front leg working on external rotation  and the back leg in position to stretch the psoas muscle. This used to be my most dreaded pose, but I love it now!!! have a lovely practice🙏🙏🙏 Hosts:

I am so thankful for the Mysore practise for last two days. It establishes a great beginning for me to come back to mat when I am away from home. Home practise is always difficult for me. That’s ironic, right, cause the practise is usually just your own no matter you practise yourself or in a shala. Yet, somehow, the community lifts you up, it makes things easier, it makes you feel like not so lonely when you are struggling. Three weeks to come. :)

I woke up this morning with a pulsating drive to deeply open my heart space and cultivate lightness and love in my whole self. So I did. I practiced with @clararobertsoss online with one of her lengthy heart opening classes and did just about every backbend you can think of. I felt melty, oozy, open to give and to receive. I felt playful and self loving and capable. Here, I got to play with a fun transition from camel to wheel. I feel like I'm on my way to the circus with these moves in those pants! .

Pigeon Pose Variations :)
One of my favorite lessons this year (from one of my truly inspiring teachers @namesuponnames ) was at the beginning of a Hatha class and she asked if there was anything people wanted to work on or focus on that day, and students said various things, asking to get into the neck or the hips, fairly typical responses. She responded in a way that at first surprised me, and then resonated as truth. She didn’t talk about the asanas to come or the pitfalls of a sedentary lifestyle, she pointed out that we need to study ourselves in order to find symmetry, to figure out where energy is being blocked and how in Your practice and then find ways to explore bringing whatever is needed to achieve balance within the body and mind. A well rounded class should afford you opportunities to work on every part of the body, the challenge lies in building the proprioception and self awareness to identify your imbalances and causes of your symptoms, and then muster the discipline required to bring about change. Un amigo me hizo un comentario que me encantó por lo honesto. Me decía que los yogis se la pasan practicando y practicando pero que... ¿Cuando es la competencia? 
Yoga no es un entrenamiento, una actividad física ni tampoco un hobbie. Nosotros le llamamos práctica. 
También lo vemos como una filosofía de vida. Practicas 7 días a la semana con uno de descanso.
La diferencia entre yoga y otras actividades físicas esta en que yoga no sólo trabaja lo físico si no también lo mental y energético. Ósea que no solo te haces más flexible y más fuerte del cuerpo si no también de la mente. Además, aumentas y estabilizas tu energía.
Trabajas fuerza y flexibilidad con las posturas, el movimiento y el constante inhalar y exhalar.
En Yoga nunca exhalamos por la boca, todo es por la nariz. Esto hace que toda la energía se quede dentro y se mueva por todo el cuerpo. Tipo el “recycle” del aire acondicionado de los coches. Mismo aire pero cada vez más puro.
Se usa un Drishti o enfoque. Si tus ojos se mueven, empiezas a distraerte y compararte. Al fijarlos en un solo lugar, te recuerdas del objetivo esencial de tu práctica: observar a tu mente para sepárate de ella.
Así que volviendo al comentario de mi amigo, la competencia para nosotros es todos los días. Nunca llegas a la meta. La meta es cada día, cada pensamiento, cada emoción.
Y así como todos los días compites también recibes pequeñas medallas diario. 
No solo cuando llegas a esa postura que tanto llevas trabajando sino cuando te cachas detectando que viene una emoción antes de reaccionar. 
Cuando decides no hacer tuyo ese miedo o enojo, no alimentarlo. Cuando dejas de juzgar lo que no conoces o no entiendes. Cuando dejas de competir y compararte con los demás.
Cuando sientes un microsegundo de conexión con todos y todo.
Cuando empiezas a conocerte y descubrirte abajo de toda esa “basura” que te han dicho que eres. 
Cuando te empiezas a enamorar de ti mismo con todo lo bueno y también lo malo. 
Ese es el día que tu práctica deja de ser “solo una práctica”. .

#kapotasana est une posture très impressionnante tant lorsqu’on la regarde que lorsqu’on la pratique! Elle demande une grande préparation, une souplesse au niveau des poignets, épaules et du dos, mais aussi du tonus musculaire ✨ Laisser partir son corps sans voir ni contrôler son atterrissage peut être effrayant !!  Totally agree with that, as I'm sure any #chiropractor 😉. I can't believe the amount of people suffering from back pain, apparently the number 1 reason for disabilities. If you do suffer from back pain (or any ailment, give yoga a go), no need to go into deep backbend like the one 👆 to feel better quickly. Here few  easy poses to help with lower back pain: cat and cow pose, sphinx pose, supine spinal twist (stay for at least 5 long breaths), add few sun salutations to warm up the body (try to practise daily, even 10min a day or at least 4 times a week) #yogatheraphy #healthyspine #kapotasana #kapotasanab #yogachikitsa #namaste #spine #pain-free #puremedicine

Today was my last practice at KPJAYI for this trip, and I've been reflecting on the experience a bit this afternoon. I came here with no real expectations, and received more than I could have imagined. By that, I dont mean new poses, breakthroughs, or life changing adjustments...
What I mean is, I've felt a subtle shift in the way my practice has felt over the past month. A little more soft, slow,  patient, forgiving...things that dont really come naturally to me. I believe this is the magic of Ashtanga yoga. That through a dedicated daily practice, it teaches us to be a more balanced version of ourselves, by shining a light on that which we can't always see. ❤🙏🏼

나가야하는 시간 5분전까지 고민하다
요즘 오른쪽.천골 통증이 너무 심한데 오늘은 그때까지도 너무 아파서
2보 전진을 위한 1보 후퇴
심정으로 쉬기로 했다
근데 오늘 안가면 월요일에나 수련을 하게 되고
그럼 또 엄청나게 힘듦을 알기에
늦은 오후 매트위에 섰다
또 막상 서니 쭉쭉쭉
심지어 요가원에서 수련할때는 하지 않는 우띠타하스타와 아르다받다파드모따나까지 했다
근데 뭔가 평소보다 좀 더 술술 되는 느낌에 내 진도까지 진행

카포는 요즘 굉장히 불안한 상태 허리가 아프니 영향을 많이 받는다
마유라는 그날그날에 따라 조금씩 다르고
나크라는 조금씩 만들어가는 중이다
바타야나는 오늘 정식으로 두번째인데 약간 느낌이 올랑말랑 ㅋㅋㅋ내겐 너무 힘든 자세
파드마 바꿀때 어제 원장님께서 가능하면 손대지 말고 하라실때 아니 이걸 대체 어뜨케?😱
했는데 오늘 요령을 터득함 ㅋㅋ
나 좀 천재인듯🤣🤣🤣🤣
드롭백 컴업은 순간 고민했으나
그냥 의식의 흐름대로 했다
어깨가 아프지는 않지만 가동범위가 너무 좋지 않다 어깨의 역할까지 후굴이 해줘야하니
더더 힘들다
허리 통증이 얼른 끝났으면 좋겠다 
너무 고통이다
특히 전굴할때마다 눈물이 날정도로...
그래도 오늘 여러가지 시험 가운데 
수련할 수 있는 강한 마음에 
스스로에게 칭찬한다

Fredagstipset. För bakåtböjningar. En av mina Akilles när det kommer till asanas. Kapotasana är ställningen jag jobbar med och den kommer säkert ta mig ett gäng år om det ens någonsin kommer 😊 
Men dessa grejer pysslar jag med när jag har tid. Yogahjulet är det bästa!! Men även mot väggen att försöka gå ned och sträcka på armarna när man står på knä, det hjälper mig massor. 😊sista bilden är när jag precis börjat med detta för några år sedan. Ibland kul att se hur kroppen ändrats. Och ja, jag vet att det bara är en ställning, och det är inte det fysiska som är yoga egentligen, den är mycket mer än så😊 men får så ofta höra ”jag är för stel för yoga” så vill bara visa att allt går att förändra. My husband has the most muscular legs I’ve ever seen. They are a beautiful sight! 😍 And along with all that muscle mass comes a lot of tightness. Jack also suffers from a congenital back deformity called spondylolisthesis. Getting this guy some flexibility has been a slow process. His condition causes him to have the tightest hamstrings I’ve ever seen. 😳 so we modify our yoga poses a lot! 
Whether you are just getting into yoga or you have been doing it for years don’t shy away from modifications or props. They are our friends! The goal shouldn’t be to get rid of a prop or modification. It should honestly be the opposite. Ask yourself where in your practice a prop would benefit your body or a modification would actually take you further into an asana. 
One example here is in kapotasana: pigeon pose. Without the use of blocks to support him, jack can hardly stand to be in pigeon. Once we elevated his pelvis slightly he had less pain, was able to align his hips properly and even reach for his back foot to add a quad stretch. Notice that he also decided to keep his beer prop nearby 🍺😂 perks of a home practice.

Durante la práctica de ashtanga somos como hornos generando calor de adentro hacia afuera, el combustible entra por medio de la inhalación y las puertas las cerramos por medio de las bandhas.

Este clima invernal me obliga a ser más consciente de este proceso.
