i’ve been on the couch since 5am 🙈 sure, i got up to make coffee and breakfast, but other than that i’ve been working on me and working on my business.
started with Jesus time, getting my heart right, my mind focused, and my world centered.
then i jumped into my coaching biz!
i am grateful that my “job” doesn’t feel like work. i’m so stinkin’ passionate about helping women with their health (mental, physical, emotional, spiritual). and since i’ve been given the tools to change my own health, and in turn my life, i HAVE to share and teach and give others the tools, too! ...
we love sharing our favorite restaurants or recommending shops, or letting our friends know about hot deals at XYZ. and that’s what i do, too! i have something that’s LIFE CHANGING, a solution that changed everything for me, and i know if i benefit from it, others will too! ...

you’d think i’d have a smile on right 😂 never been thrilled to take a picture, but for this #transformationtuesday i had to show you the results of my very first challenge group 🙌🏻 ...
that first picture was taken on april 15, 2015, and it will forever be a picture i look back on with gratitude. i was so tired of feeling blah and hating my body and not feeling confident. i needed a change.
so with determination to go all in, i invested time to workouts and our support group, and money (which was tough as i was subbing) into her health.
after those 30days i vowed never to go back to the old me again. i had energy, i liked healthy food, i had a workout routine i could do from home, and i felt like me again.
i’m thankful i reached out to my now coach and asked for help. i couldn’t do it alone, and i still have an amazing tribe of women who hold me accountable, and i get to help others find themselves again.
it’s not too late. this could be the day you decide to change your life.

today i conquered a move that i’ve never been able to maintain for three rounds!! after working legs, a side plank with a leg lift is TOUGH.
so i enlisted my husband to take video of the last round so i wouldn’t modify and prove to myself that i could do it.

i just got off a call with some pretty special ladies: my team! grateful to have gotten the opportunity to co-host tonight’s call with @busylifefitlife_jessica and share how we’ve been successful with our challenge groups and are having a blast!
the teacher in me loves sharing information and also learning from others so i can grow, too. that’s something special i love about coaching. no one competes. we’re all just happy to make more friends, help women on their health and fitness journeys, and change lives!! ...
these ladies fire me up and push me to be the best coach i can for my own team and for my challengers. i love what i do and i’m so thankful i was given the opportunity to give back to others the healthy life-tools that were handed to me!!
Who else is physically and mentally exhausted from this week?🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️every single day has been so busy this week whether that be studying, working, or Christmas shopping. Literally for the past week I have gotten a headache on the same spot of my head, every single night. And it’s not fun 😞 it’s crazy was stress can do to our bodies, and I’m trying as hard as I can to keep it healthy, but sometimes it’s just not enough. I’m so ready for finals to be over with so I can have my energy and headache free head back... who the heck is with me!?!?!?!
teachers, i’m thankful for you ❤️
this time of year is so hard, and with a week and a day left, patience is low, kids are off the wall, and things just don’t go the way you want or need them to.
but it’s ok.
we’re doing our best, and yes, while fail, the kids still love us and they’ll forget by the end of the day what happened or the arguments they had or who did what.
YOU are someone so incredibly special in their lives. YOU might spend more time with them than their own parents. YOU have the power to put a smile on a kiddos face. YOU could be they’re favorite person. YOU are making an impact on each one of your kiddos lives each and every day.
so give yourself some grace, take a deep breath, pray for your students, pray for strength, and know that this is where you belong. YOU were made for this.

what are you filling the first hour of your day with? rushing around the house? devotion time? taking care of littles? working out? pressing snooze over and over?
how you start your day determines your day. feeling frantic and rushed spills over into your day at work or how you handle problems or what you think of yourself.
it’s a habit i’ve made to spend my first hour in quiet time (spiritual), and working out (physical). both aspects are taking care of me and filling my own cup first. it’s not selfish. it’s taking care of the body and heart and mind that God gave me. i’m centered on Who’s i am, filled back up, and release stress or whatever i’m holding onto.
my prayer life has improved and when i start into the days activities, i know God is in control, i’m calmer, my brain is clear, and the endorphins give me an extra boost.
to me, getting up at 4:40am and spending time on me till 6am(ish) is 100% worth it.
so, how do you spend the first hour of your day?
It is so important to have a positive outlook on life while also having a positive inner dialogue to yourself. BUT it is not easy. I have been there. I used to be so negative about simple things that would ruin my mood and cause me to be so rude to everyone around me. But as I have practiced more kindness towards myself, it has become a lot easier to be kind to those around me.
If self love feels like an uphill battle right now, keep fighting. Make little efforts each day to take care of yourself mentally and physically and you will see your worth. Self acceptance, confidence, and love will grow💓

It may be cold (or cool 🤷🏼♀️) here in KC, but that doesn’t stop us from eating ice cream 🍨! Do you find it scary going to the gym? GIRL I’ve been there. I didn’t go to the gym to workout until 5 months into my journey. I started with at home workouts because that’s what I was comfortable with. I started to become more comfortable with working out, and wanted to do a program that had weight training. •
So, I went to the gym. Was it scary? Heck yes. Did I think everyone was staring at me and judging me? Yes. Were they? Absolutely not. Listen, people don’t care what you’re doing. They’re there to get their workout in just like you. So many people have a fear of going to the gym. •
I recommend going even if isn’t very busy your first few times so you can focus on yourself more.
Either way, be confident with your workouts no matter what!! 😘
i LOVE green bean casserole. but we all know the fried onions and the mushroom soup aren’t the best (but they do taste good 😉)
took this healthier version to a christmas party over the weekend and got many compliments on it! it may not have been the “real thing,” but it was great! healthier doesn’t mean less tasty!!
5 Tbsp. whole wheat flour divided use
½ tsp. paprika
½ tsp. garlic powder
1 medium onion (½ onion thinly sliced, ½ onion chopped), divided use
3 tsp. olive oil divided use
8 oz. sliced mushrooms
½ tsp. onion powder
3 fresh thyme sprigs leaves removed and chopped, stems discarded
½ tsp. sea salt
½ tsp. ground black pepper
½ cup reduced fat (2%) milk
2 Tbsp. dry sherry wine (i didn’t have this, and i didn’t miss it)
1 lb. frozen French-cut green beans
1 cup reduced fat (2%) plain yogurt
1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
2. Combine 2 Tbsp. flour, paprika, and garlic powder in a medium bowl; mix well.
3. Add sliced onion; mix until well coated. Set aside.
4. Heat 2 tsp. oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Add sliced onion mixture; cook, turning once or twice, for 3 to 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp. Remove from skillet and place on a paper towel. 6. Set aside. Wipe skillet clean.
7. Heat remaining 1 tsp. oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
8. Add chopped onions; cook, stirring frequently, for 2 to 4 minutes, or until translucent.
9. Add mushrooms; cook, stirring frequently, for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the liquid released from mushrooms is almost completely evaporated.
10. Add remaining 3 Tbsp. flour, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper; mix until vegetables are coated.
11. Add milk and sherry; cook, stirring frequently, for 4 to 5 minutes, or until bubbly and slightly thickened.
12. Add green beans; cook, stirring frequently, for 2 to 3 minutes, or until heated through.
13. Add yogurt; mix until combined.
Place green bean mixture in casserole dish. Top with onion mixture.
14. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until casserole is bubbly.
