Appreciating a latte that I didn’t make today.
Balancing a day job with acting is such a challenge! Why didn’t I learn to edit in college? That would have been a great side hustle! Then again, I love the community that working in a coffee shop has provided. I’m so grateful to work at a place where customers become friends!
Actor friends, how do you balance the work you’re here to do with the work you do to pay the bills?
For various reasons it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve spent any amount of time in the kitchen actually cooking.
I’ve done a lot of heating things up.
It felt good to actually work in the kitchen today.... stuffed peppers, meatloaf and a big pot of cabbage, sausage and potato soup.
Much of this will go in the freezer for the next time I’m called away.
Grateful for this time alone in this warm kitchen.
Love what you do and it will never feel like work. I love what I do!
I love how I feel after I workout.
I love the way I feel when I eat healthy.
Most of all, I love helping other’s feel better.
I’m here to help you when you’re ready. ❤️
Not everyday is my best day. Not everyday do I feel 100%. Some days I have tweaked muscles or muscle spasms in my back or a period that just hurts everywhere, but I have learned that continuing to push play and push through will make me feel better, even if I have to modify. Still got my 25 min workout done this morning with my pup by my side and my Christmas tree on. Liquid sunshine helped me power through and so did knowing that I have a group of ladies holding me accountable to my goals today! Go crush this Tuesday, y’all! ✨
Two years ago I felt alone. I had weight to lose and was just doing ab workout after ab workout and was eating complete junk. Anyone else struggle with emotional eating?🙋🏽♀️ I wasn’t losing weight and I had no one to keep me accountable to my workouts or how I was eating. I was a new wife and new teacher and was just anxious and stressed all the time.
I stumbled upon this girl’s Instagram page and she was talking about this accountability group that she was hosting for women who wanted to lose weight, feel happier and join a community of women who would encourage and uplift her every single day. What did I do? JUMPED THE HECK IN! That was what I was needing and wanting! Was I nervous to be in a virtual group with women I didn’t know? Oh gosh, absolutely! But I’ve been in community with THESE women for 2 years now and they are my absolute best friends and just because I jumped head first into something new and scary, my life has forever been changed for the better.
You in that spot? Feel stuck? Feel alone? Feel like you are doing everything you can but the weight isn’t coming off? Don’t feel happy? Sister, jump. Jump head first into my community just like I did. We kick off our next virtual accountability group on November 26th and I want YOU in it!💛 What are you waiting for??
Last week my husband and I went with a few other leaders from our church to a #rightnowmedia conference and it was amazing! There’s just something about surrounding yourself with like minded people that truly makes you feel like a part of the body of Christ. I know I disappeared for a few days but it was important to step away and focus on Him entirely. You can’t pour from an empty cup friends!
The mountains humble me. To me, they are one of God’s greatest creations. They are detailed, enormous, lovely, and magnificent. The trees, the silhouettes, the waterfalls, the views. Gorgeous. But you know what? He created US, too. And the most humbling thing? He loves us more. He loves us more than this world he created. He made us fearfully and wonderfully made. He made us in his image. He loves us, he takes care of us.
After this crazy day we have had of traveling, he reminds me that if I have faith the size of a mustard seed, I can move these mountains. I can say jump and they will jump. Like what? ME?? I feel like being in the mountains just brings his whole word to life for me; more than it normally does. Maybe it’s because I’m such a visual person.
But my takeaways from this trip that I want to encourage you with on this Sunday.
1.) schedule the trip and go. This life is too short to not go. Explore and go. It doesn’t need to be crazy expensive. Just say yes and go.
2.) you are absolutely beautiful and wonderful in every single way. This world needs you. You have talents and treasures that this world needs. Don’t think anything less of yourself. You are so loved.
3.) have faith. Have the faith it will work out. Have faith the peak is coming and that you won’t be stuck in the valley forever. Have the faith that it will change. And remember, you have an incredible God on your side who is fighting for you and who loves you fiercely.
Amazing music and great friends always makes for a happy Katie. Especially when get to this this guy! We love tamales at our house, we normally pick a dozen up at a local place. But after watching @gimmesomeoven make them we decided to give it a try! It’s so easy! The hubs made the masa and I made the pork and they are so tasty and this will definitely be a regular thing we make in batches to freeze!

Such an easy but delightful DIY! 🌲3T Bonner’s Unscented Soap
🌲10 Drops Christmas Spirit ( Jazz it up with peppermint and Spruce too if you’d like)
Fill the glass dispenser the rest of the way up with water.
I buy glass bottles on Amazon.
Such an inexpensive way to keep the soap dispensers filled.
