Iceland day 7: today was our last full day in Iceland. We went horseback riding this morning. My horse’s name was Trjábörkur aka Tree Bark. We had a really fun ride and got to see some of the most beautiful parts of Iceland. We spent the rest of the day wandering the city, where we went down to the harbor and saw the Viking ship statue and soaked in the beauty of the water and horizon for a bit. Then, we made our way to the Harpa Concert Hall, which has such cool geometric architecture. Rachel and I ended the day with a walk to Hallgrímskirkja, the most famous church in Iceland. What a fun trip this has been. I’m going to miss this place, but I’m looking forward to being home and warm.
Day 2 — probably a more accurate depiction of Iceland weather; a little rain & wind but the perfect recipe for hot tea with a side of puffin literature.
Met up with our friends before their big day! && our favorite little person showed us how to enjoy a real Icelandic hotdog.
Toured our next Airbnb and surrounding area before ducking into Reykjavík to explore the shops and indulge in some nitro gelato with peanut butter crumble.
Last post flashbacking to Iceland 🇮🇸 Day 8: Final full day of the journey. took it to the city where we encountered inspiring architecture inside + outside. Boarded a boat despite rough water conditions in hopes to see some whales but instead saw several types of dolphins. Riding the waves was mesmerizing to me even if it was cold! After days of seafood we took in some yummy thai coupled with excellent gelato (icelandic skyr flavor with mango yes please!) What a bright & colorful city Reykjavík is! #iceland#iceicebaby#adventurestartshere#gowithlava#reykjavík#harpaconcerthall#reflections#energybalancecuriousity#joylato
Excellent first day in Iceland! Started out with some prosecco at the Blue Lagoon (mud mask and passing hail storm not shown here), and exploring around Reykjavík... views of the sun voyager and Reykjavík from the top of Hallgrimskirkja, and of course... some Icelandic gelato!
