Like the frost on a rose
Winter comes for us all
Oh how nature acquaints us
With the nature of patience
Like a seed in the snow
I’ve been buried to grow
For Your promise is loyal
From seed to sequoia
Though the winter is long even richer
The harvest it brings
Though my waiting prolongs even greater
Your promise for me like a seed
I believe that my season will come
Lord I think of Your love
Like the low winter sun
As I gaze I am blinded
In the light of Your brightness
Like a fire to the snow
I’m renewed in Your warmth
Melt the ice of this wild soul
Till the barren is beautiful
I can see the promise
I can see the future
You’re the God of seasons
I’m just in the winter
If all I know of harvest
Is that it’s worth my patience
Then if You’re not done working
God I’m not done waiting
You can see my promise
Even in the winter
Cause You’re the God of greatness
Even in a manger
For all I know of seasons
Is that You take Your time
You could have saved us in a second
Instead You sent a child
And when I finally see my tree
Still I believe there’s a season to come
Like a seed You were sown
For the sake of us all
From Bethlehem’s soil
Grew Calvary’s sequoia
None of us can see around the corners up ahead and sometimes right here, right now seems very blurry. But I am counting on the Lord! He knows exactly what is coming - and He is a good, good Father. My hope, my trust, my faith is in God. His Word is filled with promises for me.
Romans 5:3-5 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
The space between the reveal & the release is called FAITH.
But in that space that’s where hope gets lost. In that space what do I do?
Hand it over
Not just hand it over - but hand it over to Someone to take care of!!! Before Jesus died on the cross, He handed over His Spirit to God. It was revealed that He had to die. He died for my sin. He gave up His life for my life. And in that space between the reveal and the release He gave His Spirit to God to take care of. And then Jesus went to hell where He took the keys of death and the grave from the devil. For me. And for YOU!
And HOPE became a verb! The release. All of my life has been taken care of in those days between reveal and release. Jesus took care of it. He rose from the dead for me. And so I hand it over. Insecurity, fear, disappointment, shame, rejection, guilt. I hand every one of those things over to Jesus for Him to take care of. By Faith.
By Faith that grows in that space between the reveal - the promises God has made to me - and the release - seeing the evidence of those promises.
It’s a journey. It’s time. But I will HOPE. I will TRUST. I will have CONFIDENCE. I will have FAITH.

These flowers had a big impact on me. 🌷
Apparently if you leave tulips overnight without water they droop - BADLY!!!! Actually, to me, they looked like there wasn't much hope. In my mind I knew that water can bring flowers back sometimes though. I thought we could try it and maybe they'd at least stand up a little. They might only come up some but still be bent over and we could enjoy them a bit for a little while longer.
BUT NO!!!! I cut the ends, added water and an aspirin and in 2 hours those flowers were RESTORED!!!!!! They were standing straight up - far beyond what I had imagined!!! Beauty to enjoy!! The impact?? This is like the redemption, transformation & restoration of God!!! Life is hard and circumstances and situations can take their toll on us. We forget to get watered. We can look like all the life is gone from us. Our souls become droopy.
But add Jesus, His Word and some time and LIFE comes back!!!! JOY is renewed!!!! Beauty is restored!!!! It's not too late. The story isn't over. What once looked dead can come alive - far beyond what I can imagine!!!! #restoration#thisismylife#Jesusismylivingwater#Jesusisthewellspringoflife#whatoncewasdeadisnowalive#beautyfromashes#abundantlife#beyondmyimagination#thebestisyettocome#hope#joyfuljoys2017
