Today’s drawing table, first time since Chile. Melon. Fascinating and exasperating. Thinking of ub-r driver in Santiago. Had classical music on. Said it was maybe a problem because he had 1000 CDs. Said he didn’t play an instrument but that his grandfather did and they listened a lot as kids. Halting Spanglish conversation led us to discover favorite composers and musicians. His is Jordi Savall! Amazing. Listening to Jordi Savall & Hesperion XXI now. Mediterranean medieval music at its best. One of my favorites too. Here’s to you mr ub-r driver. Long may you prosper. #surfacedesign#jordisavallhesperionxxi#classicalmusic#artistsoninstagram#anilinasmontblanc
Not so many instruments tonight. A completely different program. Jord Savall’s treble and bass viol’s are both from the 1500’s. You might notice several pavanes in the program. You’d no doubt be familiar with Ed Kuepper’s pavane on his recent album “lost cities”. I have also seen Ed Kuepper play in this venue and perform his pavane. #jordisavall#jordisavallhesperionxxi#edkuepper#pavane

Amanhã pela manhã tem Rotas da Escravidão voltando à Suíça, lugar de sua estréia em 2015.
From the @nytimes: "Savall and more of his ensembles — Hespérion XXI and La Capella Reial de Catalunya — will join Le Concert des Nations to kick off the [@carnegiehall] festival in the Stern Auditorium (Feb. 3) with "Gateway to the East: The Millenarian Venice..."
