My introduction into the world of infinite possibilities first arrived in way back in 1978. It made its debut appearance in the form of a tiny little paperback book written by Richard Bach. The pages were already yellowed, well worn the cover slightly tattered by the time it made it into my hands. It had clearly been well used and loved.
It was a tale about a seagull named Jonathan and it should be noted for those who have not read this fine book that Jonathan was no ordinary seagull. Oh sure, he looked like all the other gulls if you only saw his outward appearance. But make no mistake, he was different.
You see Jonathan had a dream, it was big and bold. In fact it was so big and bold the other gulls would not support him in it and this is what makes Jonathan so extraordinary, he went for it anyways. He bravely followed his heart. He leaned fully into his search for the meaning of his life. He courageously followed his own path, regardless of what the other gulls thought.
That one little book had such a powerful impact on my life that all these years later it is impossible for me to watch seagulls in flight and not be inspired to do the same within my own life. If you've not read Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach I highly recommend you do so! And on that note I will leave you with this beautiful quote from the book. "He was not bone and feather but a perfect idea of freedom and flight, limited by nothing at all" #richardbach#jonathanlivingstoneseagull#travel#wanderlust#freedom#personalrevolution#explore#yoga#getoutside#transform#exploremore#yucatan#womenwhoexplore#lifecoachingforwomen
‘You will begin to touch heaven, Jonathan, in the moment that you touch perfect speed. And that isn’t flying a thousand miles an hour, or a million, or flying at the speed of light. Because any number is a limit, and perfection doesn’t have limits. Perfect speed, my son, is being there’ ~ Richard Bach, #jonathanlivingstoneseagull#giveitago#bethere#heaven#touchthesky
"Such promises are for gulls that accept the ordinary." I love meeting artists who are passionate about their work and want to create beautiful things for other people to enjoy. This evening we were able to read the story of Jonathan Livingstone Seagull as we walked around the seafront after @aliclearyphotography spent 17 hours painstakingly copying the text onto the seawall. It was such a relaxing end to a lovely afternoon on the beach with my little adventurer #grownupgapyear
"Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding. Find out what you already know and you will see the way to fly." #jonathanlivingstoneseagull#sea#sky
What a perfect start to Mother’s Day. So far I’ve enjoyed time with my hubby, reading and journaling on the deck and a visitor with a handsome seagull who stopped by for a good long visit.
