Happy Sunday Friends! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I had such an amazing time in Vegas. I couldn’t get reservations to one of my favorite French restaurants we typically dine at so we tried another one & it did NOT disappoint. I think this will be on top of the list now. L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at the MGM Grand was nothing short of amazing! The countertop seating over looking the kitchen made the experience less formal yet comfortable & fun. The dark lighting & noise in the kitchen made it easier to talk freely without worrying if we were being too loud. This fine dining experience was different than any other I had before.
I went with the tasting menu that consisted of 9 courses but ends up actually being 11 & everything was delicious! 3 desserts total 😋 The French bread selection could have been just enough as a meal itself! A buttery cornbread that I could have eaten all night. My favorite was the chicken & duck foie Gras duo. Everything in that plate was so decadent & the flavors all went so well together. Portions for all the courses were perfect, enough to enjoy leaving room for all the dishes that followed. Never feeling like there was too much or not enough. I left there very satisfied without feeling like over doing it.
Our family has made our way to San Diego this evening. ✴️Entrée : Royal de Foie gras, cappuccino de paermesan au porto
✴️Plat principal : Blanc de Lotte en boléro, piqué à l'ail, crème de fenouil, purée de pomme de terre
✴️Dessert : Crémeux de chocolat noir, sorbet cacao, et biscuit comme un oréo
Il tenait à coeur à Jean-Marie Merly, Compagnon du Tour de France des Devoirs Unis dit "Flamand la Fidélité" de rendre hommage à l'un de ses pairs les plus prestigieux, Compagnon lui aussi et nommé "Poitevin la Fidélité" (cf. les images en écharpe rouge des Compagnons).
