Let me tell you a story... The girl in the photo with me is Amber and I hired Amber in December for a 4 week Street team gig with Lyft when it launched in Toronto Canada. It was the coldest winter yet breaking records with -40 degrees. But being the awesome manager that I am, I got right down into the trenches with them.
I worked one shift with Amber and something just clicked
6 months later my company decides to move me into talent acquisition. Ok cool. 2 weeks later while trying to succeed in my new role and still manage programs I was told I could hire someone to help me.
It’s funny because the FIRST AND ONLY person that came to mind was this Amber lady I met 6 months ago and barely spoke to since
With luck and fate it worked out that she would work with me a few days a week and help manage and hire.
2 more weeks later she became my partner and we ran this bomb ass empire out of my home office. It was way more then just having a great partner at work, it was this great friendship where we just got each other and everything else fell into place.
A few months after this Amber landed an offer for her dream job -
A job doing everything she loved and everything she was amazing at. As sad I was to not have her pretty face sitting across from mine everyday I was happy and proud and excited for her! She deserves nothing less then everything she wants
So end of story - sometimes new experiences and random opportunities will push you’re career and open new doors and SOMETIMES the world can be a funny little bugger and drop a soul mate friend into the mix.
We may have parted ways on the work front but we have grown eons closer on the friend front!
Go get it girl! I love you!
And for everyone else - try something new, open new doors, you never know what’s behind them! My email is Catyanna@knewsales.com and we have cool gigs all over Canada and the USA - try something new! .
We have a new opening! Gwion Solutions is looking for an experienced Frontend Developer. Know any friends who want to work in the comforts of Bohol? Tag them now! 😉

Can we talk about how worried we always are about the physical being without realizing how much work needs to be done on the mental?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I kept saying how I was getting ready for my bounce back; referring to my physical self. Not paying attention to the fact that I was in a dark place mentally. It took for me to constantly tell myself that I had to stay in a good mental state so that my son wouldn't be marked with my issues for me to realize I had a lot of work to do on myself. My situation had caused me to be bitter, angry, anxious, drown in debt, lose my faith every other day, just a bunch of toxic feelings all at once...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It took a few days to digest, but with processing and acceptance, this Monday morning I now found myself unexpectedly looking for a new job sooner than I thought. As I pray and reflect on my career path, next steps and plan, I saw my first name plate given to me when I started my first job at MetLife Auto & Home Corporate Office right after college in 2002.
I started my career journey by gaining the skills needed through the INROADS Internship Program my sophomore and senior years at JWU and MetLife. This program is one reason I started my business, Moore Impactful Career Consulting LLC. I was blessed to be surrounded by those invested in seeing me grow professionally and personally.
I know that many struggle with interviews, job search, resumes, career plan and so much more! Even as a Career Coach, I struggle myself at times. I hope as a seek my next job opportunity, I will be able to continue to help individuals who not only seek to achieve career and financial success, but looking for more joy and fulfillment in their lives.
As I grow and go through the challenges that come with job searching, I look forward to taking time to develop my business, MICC (🎉 which is now 1 year old officially!!). As I continue to develop my services, as we all know job searching is complicated! If you hear of any opportunities, please keep me in mind if you know of someone who needs short-term projects or employers looking to hire.
Keep Impacting, Empowering and Learning!

An interview is a two-way street. Both you and your potential employer are asking questions during the interview. This is a chance for you to get to know the company, the culture, and your potential employer. Also, your potential employer is getting to know you and learn about your skills. Therefore, it’s always important to prepare questions to ask your potential employer such as: description about the position, your potential boss, companies’ expectations, challenges, and so on. This will help you make sure you find the right job/company that best fits you. .
Your opportunity to ask questions usually comes at the end of the interview. You should prepare at least three questions. Keep in mind that the best questions are open-ended questions. Avoid the yes and no questions along with any broad question that may be difficult to answer. .
Also, pick questions that demonstrate your interest in the job and the company.
We have some examples of good questions to ask during a job interview:
· How would you describe a typical day in this position?
· What is the history of this role? Is it a new position, or was there someone in the job before?
· What are your expectations for this role during the first 30 days, 60 days, year?
· How will my responsibilities and performance be measured? By whom?
· Where do you think the company is headed in the next 5 years?
· Who do you consider your top competitor, and why?
· How many people work in this office/department?
· Could you explain your organizational structure?
· What are the prospects for growth and advancement?
· What are the biggest challenges of this job?
· How would you describe this company's values?
· What are the working hours, and your expectations for overtime?
· What would you say is the most fun or creative part of the job?
· What are the next steps in the interview process?
Asking these kinds of questions will help you find out more valuable information that wasn’t posted in the job description. .
