I did it! The half-marathon is done 🙌🏃♀️🏅 I can hardly believe the culmination of 14 weeks of training is over. I ran it with my sister-in-law, and our legs are tired and the knees are achy, but the views were beautiful and the experience 💯. The goal was to finish by 2:30, and we crossed the finish line at 2:20, so I’m pretty happy about that! The first eight miles felt awesome, started feeling pretty tired around 10-11, and that last mile was 😱😱 That altitude difference between Twin Falls and Jackson Hole really got to me towards the end- my heart rate was in the mid-180s the last couple miles and it’s usually in the low 170s. But I so badly wanted to achieve my time goal, so I kept pushing and man, SO MUCH HAPPINESS once that finish line came into view!
It’s been 24 hours now since I finished and I feel pretty good! My knees are a little achy, but overall, much less sore than I thought I would be! I’ve been pretty distracted by preparing for this half the last couple weeks, so I’m excited to get focused again on yoga, climbing, and nutrition ✅
I had a great time running the beautiful Jackson Hole half marathon today. Can't wait to see some race photos with the Tetons in the background. Finished in 1:41:47 so now I just need to work on adding some distance for my fall marathon. #jacksonholehalf#halfmarathon#racecation
