This week has been tough for me. I’ve missed my family, my friends, running into students everywhere I go (crazy, right!?), and knowing every road in town. Plus my baby turned another year older! But today I received the happiest mail from @mallyanderson that spoke so much life into me and reminded me of exactly who I am and where I am. If you don’t have a friend like mine, get you one! Proverbs 17:17 💕
Also, if you just need some encouragement, you should follow her @littlebitsof_hope. You’ll get to see more of her amazing art and be uplifted.
Spent some time in the Boise National Forest today skipping rocks and soaking in the Payette. Added bonus: hot springs! Also, maybe I should stop putting my hands on my hips so Gideon doesn’t think that’s how you have to stand for pictures. 🤷🏻♀️😂
This morning has been rough, but at least my coffee is pretty. Since changing the way I eat to Keto, I also switched up my coffee routine. I fill it with so much yummy goodness now including Kerrygold butter, MCT oil, stevia, and my personal favorite @prymalcoffeecreamer Birthday Cake creamer. I blend it all up and it becomes latte-like, and I’m going to need a latte to get through this Friday. 😬😂
Since we’ve been so busy this week moving in, buying furniture, and making Idaho our home, I have neglected social media. Though now that I’m finally putting finishing touches on our new place, I’m getting ready to hang this adorable picture painted by my sweet friend @mallyanderson. When she was working on this gift for our new home and she read this quote to me, I said “yes, of course, that sounds great,” only to realize later that it’s a quote from one of my favorite books of all time and completely sums up where I’ve found myself at this point in my life.
Today we took a break from unpacking and got outside. We rode a couple miles of the Boise Greenbelt, hiked a bit, and finished the evening with “potato” ice cream from the Food Network famous Westside Drive In. Also, can we just address this super cute shirt my friend @mallyanderson made for Mollie! 😍💙❤️
Yesterday was spent almost entirely in Texas. I knew it was large, but I had no idea what that actually meant. Seriously, the “one way” sign photo captures what I saw for hours! I can’t tell you how happy we were to cross into New Mexico, and finally make it to Colorado Springs last night.
Since I’m not sharing the tears flowing this morning, we’re too private for that, here are a few happies with my Day 1,929 (I’m older). We’ll be hitting the road officially tomorrow, so be prepared for lots of spam to come. #myperson#boisebound#istresgowest#sisters
Order, even if it only makes sense to me, is something I’ve always thrived on. Going through a change doesn’t always feel orderly; in fact, it rarely does. Here is a conglomeration of “stuff” that had to be thrown into my gracious parents’ dining room in the two days we had to move out of our home and into theirs for a few weeks until the big move. It doesn’t look pretty or put together. It looks like a mess. Though, being the one who placed this mess here, I know there are great things tucked away, memories hidden from view. Reflecting on it reminds me of how God sees all that’s wrong and messy in our lives, but knows there is good ready to be uncovered. Trying to remind myself today that my steps are ordered (Psalm 37:23) and I look forward to uncovering the potential that awaits. #istresgowest#order#psalm37#boisebound
