It's been a while since I watched a movie with my fam, and so we did last Saturday. Sadly, I didn't really enjoy The Nutcracker. I thought this was going to be one of those kid's movies that will make you think for quite a while since Disney has this trend of embedding deep messages on their animated movies so what better to do than doing the same on live action films, right? But nah, just as Wrinkle in Time, not even the kids gave much attention as we watched.
We liked the movie house tho so here's Joyce and I making use of the reclining couch and them flashlights for a pic, man if we didn't have unlimited soda and popcorn it would have been a drag 😅 Watched Bohemian Rhapsody yesterday tho with a friend and boy was it worth it!
So we kind of celebrated my friend's birthday by having a simple dinner and watching at the movie house yesterday. Didn't have much time to spend but we enjoyed watching #readyplayerone which is another masterpiece by Steven Spielberg. And I gotta be honest, it's the perfect movie for us in a lot of ways. The sheer weight of curiosity, the thrill of the booms and the bangs, the goosebumps from the twists and turns, and just how immense the world of Oasis is, are few of the things to love about Ready Player One. And I swear, once we're seated, front row and comfy on the reclined lazy boy couch, snacking on sour cream, texan bbq, and cheddar popcorns while watching characters from our childhood was just another level of throwback. Couldn't have watched it more perfectly. Absolutely enjoyed my sunday, with just the right people to get inspired with and stay grounded.
Thanks for the stories while on road trip, the food, and for sparing some time as we all three know how hard it is for us to get the timing. Looking forward to biking with you two!
Finally saw this badass movie! Could've watched this sooner but we had it scheduled today, I couldn't even describe the excitement. This movie is a mix of grand musical performances from Moulin Rogue, distinct familial connection through music from August Rush, and stunning visuals from The Grand Budapest Hotel. When you combine the greatest assets from these movies, The Greatest Showman is what you get.
This movie gave me a lot of chills especially from the early parts of the movie. Powerhouse casts who delivered not only great acting but powerful vocal performances. The strong belts you'll hear from here and there, and the added feeling of excitement when they express the want to be accepted, is a very wise demonstration of how beautiful diversity can be. The only thing that can top the movie is if they execute it on a live play.
Dreams can build worlds, and hatred could easily destroy them. At the end of the day, the essence of peace is acceptance and contentment. We are prone to stray for searching for things we think we deserve, when all along, they've always been with us. Enjoyed watching this with Danee, Daniel, Bryle, and Ara.
