I lost my sewing mojo. Had no desire to even go near my machine. Then I forced myself to make this @burda_style pullover sweatshirt and was reminded why I like this sewing thing. Ebb and flow...right? Details are on the blog, link in bio!

#sewingproject#inprogress : #burda117082010 ... 🇬🇧so far so good 😊... I had to stop cause I couldn’t find my leather skiver. Besides I think I want to redraft the neckline facings. I want to cut them in leather and it’s to stiff for their original shape. I also am not so sure about the low waistline 🤨 🇮🇹 sono arrivata a questo punto è mi sono dovuta fermare perché non riesco a trovare l’attrezzo quello che si usa per assottigliare la pelle, quella specie di raschietto che non ho idea come si chiama in italiano 😐 ... cmq dovrei anche ridisegnare le paramonture collo perché le originali non sono abbastanza sagomate - intendo tagliarle in pelle. Poi quella vita ribassata non so se mi convince tanto 😐

Rainy Sunday = productive Sunday
I thought I would be a little worn out after my tailored blazer and my biker jacket but no! So I started on a black coat with hood. Pattern is from Burda magazine 10/2018 (number 110) and it's great. I did a little more interfacing than the pattern recommends but I can't help tailoring things a bit. The fabric is a super thick wool from my stash, bought >5 years ago (oops) and lining is a mix of black acetate satin for visible bits and copper silk for the inside.
Guysssssss it’s November 30th. Meaning, having-plans-every-single-day month (or as I call it, “introvert hell”) starts tomorrow 😬😬😬 Diffuse the awkward small talk tension by sewing up a quick @burda_style 09/2011 110 to wear to all your holiday gatherings so you have at least one thing to nervously chatter about 😅 #isewburdastyle
I managed to turn that casual white linen tunic dress into a party dress 🤣🤣🤣 As you do! This is my second version of the @burda_style Tunic Dress 06/2018#114 This time I used rayon and I shortened the length quite a bit. I also swapped out the sleeves with Flutter Sleeves just for fun. These were easy enough to make using the original top sleeve pattern piece. I simply cut the sleeve in half down the centre line and fanned it out to create a large V with the widest part at the sleeve hem. I like how it’s turned a long sleeved, laid back dress into a cute summer dress.
🇬🇧Ready to cut #burda117082010 @burda_style #dress in this gorgeous @zuleeg_gmbh #german#tweed 🤞Wish me luck!
So it’s very slowly warming up here in Western Australia and I can’t help but let all the summer dresses catch my eye! And of course I’ve been on a linen bender recently, so this months @burda_style make HAD to be a linen dress!!! For all of you lovelies getting ready for winter and wishing for a white Christmas, perhaps this could be a summer holiday dress?? Maybe join us down under for a Chrissy by the bbq?! 😁👙🎄☀️🏖
Pattern is #burdastyle 06/2018#114
The only modification I made was the length and I didn’t add on the bottom half of the sleeves. This pattern is also used to make a really cute tunic top.
Finally finished the first drafts of all my bra and panty patterns for my @burda_style lingerie class, and, tbh my stacks of pattern pieces and knit remnants are so cute I almost don’t want to disturb them by cutting out my muslins. Almost. #isewburdastyle#burdastyleacademy
I've been getting a lot of questions about fitting these pants and still being able to move. So I thought I'd answer that here:
a) this is a stretch faux leather and
True story. I was concerned about being able to move freely, so before inserting the zipper, waistband and hemming the ankles, I wore them for about an hour at home and did squats to make sure there were no mishaps. Details on the blog, link in bio! 📷: @j.vanlies
Fun fact: There was a time when I was worried and insecure about how people would react to sewing my own clothes, so I would never admit it. How dumb lol

Every October I buy a pumpkin with intention to make a delicious soup; every October I put that pumpkin on the countertop and keep it as a decoration, until it goes bad and I need a new pumpkin to finally make that soup 🤣🤣 Well, this time, pumpkin will also go as a nice background while I showcase closer details to my new skirt 🎃😁😁
For this skirt I used a bright color denim - while I liked how it holds shape, this fabric was also very stiff and irons terribly (even with steam iron), so I am not sure how easy it will be to take care of, I'm afraid it will get wrinkled a lot 🤔 I also put in an exposed zipper - only second time I ever used one, and while I see improvement comparing to first time, it's still not quite in the quality I would like it to be (fingers crossed third time will be a charm 🤞). You might also notice I didn't put in the lining - truth is, as weird as it might sound, I don't like lining in every type of fabric and I thought denim will not feel good with it 🤫😁 Other than that, I like how the golden zipper contrasts with bright orange color and I especially love the pleats - I wanted to make something with it for quite some time already and finally did it 💃Hope this will be a nice edition to the autumn wardrobe!😊🤗

My world in one photo: the neighbourhood I live in, that #HamOnt bound bus behind me, wearing a garment I made. All captured by a dear friend I've had since I was 5. This kind of is a complete and total image of me. Cool! 😊

Pretty in pink with #burdastyle jacket...
Issue 9/2018 of @burda_style contains many patterns that I want to sew. Especially this jacket was love at first sight - not only the pattern even the fabric 💞
I ordered the original fabric from @alfatexideenleben as soon as it was available. Okay, to be honest: it was a nightmare to sew (swipe to see some pinning and Teflon foot action) 😬 But I love, love, love the colour - especially on rainy days ☔️ The pattern itself was really straight forward to sew and even the fitting was easygoing. Just a broad shoulder adjustment and lengthening the jacket (because to lazy to shorten the zipper ☺️). By the way if you wonder about the length of the sleeves, I made a muslin with long sleeves but decided to keep them as short as the pattern of model 105 recommends. I like this little 70s vibe ... The words „like“ and „love“ do often appear in this post - I would definitely recommend this pattern 😆
Very very slowly making progress on #burda110x062017 Thank you all for your thoughtful messages on my last post. I read them all and I will reply but in baby steps. It really hit me hard when I was not looking
Thank you all again for being an amazing supportive community ❤️
Before school started I made 13 business casual/professional items in 11 weeks. Currently taking a necessary sewing hiatus to enjoy wearing all the new things for the last year of undergrad, including the requisite sunflower field visit 🌻🌻 •
