I love DC. I moved here in August 1999. I left a good job in Little Rock to see what was out here. My start was a rough one, but I landed a job that was better than I could have ever imagined. The hours were long, but i liked it. I still managed to have some ups and downs over the years, but I never gave up on being out here…and I do not regret making #DC home. Kicking it with the #archivist at the event last night while walking through the @smithsoniannmnh, and hearing them tell me how much they like DC and wish they lived here; I guess it really got to me, and made me #dcproud . So running this morning, I thought a lot about these streets that I’ve ran on for the last five years. No distance for today. No real direction. I said I’d run an hour...that’s about it. It’s been an interesting ride so far, and I’m excited to see what’s in store. 🔥⭐️🏃🏾🙌🏾🌎❤️🤙🏾 #runningcommunity#instarunner#runnersofinstagram#dcrunning#dcneighborhoods#irunthesestreets#postrunselfie#imarunneriguess

Runner problem: loving your shoes and not wanting to retire them, but knowing that it is what’s best for your feet. These shoes HAVE taken me over a thousand miles through countless 5ks and even a few half marathons. I can’t wait to see where my next pair take me. @nikerunning @nikewomen
It was a ROUGH start tonight. Stiff, sore, wanted to be on the couch more than the road, but I laced 'em up and did it. That first mile was no fun, which is nothing new. I was pushing and getting nowhere. A little into mile two the clouds parted, the legs felt lighter, and things got easier. I had just gotten into the groove when I hit mile three, and the run was over. Sic vita est, right? The moral of the story is that a bad beginning doesn't mean a bad ending. That, and I should write apologies to the neighbors that had to deal with me standing topless on the porch, but I would rather that sweat puddle be outside rather than soaking into the carpet.
Happy #MedalMonday ! Yesterday I earned my beautiful (and heavy) @flexitpink #runfortheheroes virtual run medal which benefits @mission_22. This amazing organization that Flex It Pink has partnered with not only raises awareness to an issue that needs more light shined on it, but is helping our heroes live through their pain. We live in a country where we can run the streets free and kick asphalt thanks to those amazing men and women in our armed forces who fight for that freedom. I'm proud to be able to make even a tiny contribution, raise awareness, and honor our service men and women. 🇺🇸 For more info on @Mission22 and the amazing work they do, please visit their page.
