📷 Having the best few days away, it’s all on my stories! I haven’t been home for @roseoftraleefestival in 16 years and it’s been so much fun. Would highly recommend for a weekend away with the kids. So much to do....and if you can avoid the funfair that will cause you to remortgage your house, then the majority of stuff is free!
On another note, the majority of the painting is now completed (not completed in this picture, first coat only) and looking forward to getting home to see it all done 👏👏 We used Seldom Seen from @crownpaintsirl in all of the open plan area.

📷 All the lights are on here this morning, it’s miserable outside - perfect day for a 3 hour drive.....instead of the buckets/spades, wetsuits, boogie boards and suncream, the boot is disappointingly full with our wellies, rain gear and hoodies! Was really hoping we would get one more beach week before school starts in two weeks time....either way we will be on the beach, just in different attire 🙄🙄
A friend at work was looking at the pictures of my kitchen the other day, asked where the clutter was - it’s there, all stuffed into one of those bottom pots & pans drawers, that same one that I only tidied out recently 🙈🤪
📷 Back to the land of the living.....back to back shifts over the last 5 days....I’m wrecked! But now off for a while, and we are going away! But first showers for the kids, school shoes to be bought and then packing. Kids are excited, they are finally getting to go out on a boat to see @fungie_the_dolphin in Dingle and the Rose of Tralee is on, so a jam packed weekend ahead!
The coving is finished in the house so while we are away the painting of the walls will (fingers crossed) be finished. Then it’s onto all the woodwork for the autumn!
Last months unfortunate encounter with a Beagle 🐶 at JFK frightened me off the standard contraband salmon and unpasteurized cheese imports, but there’s always room in the suitcase for Irish linen and lambswool 🐑 tweeds from @mcnuttofdonegal
When we first moved here two years ago both the house and land just seemed "sad". Nothing flowered, the grass had long given up, and the inside of the house was indescribable. We put so much into the house on a continuous basis. We knew it would be a 10 (or 20!!) year project. Every little bit we do improves things, and we are definitely getting there bit by bit (it often feels very slow!), but this last few weeks brought the nicest surprise. Some hedging we honestly thought had given up, has flowered and provided us with the most delicious berries, and now lines the field at the back of the house!! In the scheme of things it's small, but for us it's the biggest sign that this place has come back to life, we must be doing something right ❤
📷 It’s been a rough night....Harry spent the night with his head in a sick bucket and then sprung out of our bed this morning demanding breakfast 😭 A day of movies ahead! I’ve worked the last x 3 days and all the coving is now finished in the house - he is a good one and put it all up in the evenings once the kids went to bed. Painting can now be completely finished and we can start adding some art and prints to our walls downstairs!
