Nature Exploration is as much about CONNECTION as it is about KNOWLEDGE.----- In our Nature Exploration Book Club today, we built constructs for exploring. * "I Notice...."
* "I Wonder..."
* "It Reminds Me of..."
So often as parents and educators, we want to step in and provide answers, knowledge, classification or explanation. Exploration requires a framework of language and behaviors and then lots and lots of freedom and time to put them to use. Creating a lasting connection with Nature is a personal process. Maybe it's flowers, maybe it's bugs, maybe it's light and shadows or texture and color.... Wherever Nature grasp on to your child, try hard to tame the desire to give the answer. Let them DIG, literally and figuratively, for their own conclusions!!
I meant to post this on Saturday... Some little person's sweet pink hedgehog (slightly damp from an earlier rain) was nestled in a shrub just east of Shea's in the alley behind.5th Ave. S. I will be down that way later today and take a look... Maybe it found its family or a new home. #pinkhedgehog#stuffedanimal#hedgehog#inthetrees
I love climbing trees 🌳
It is a wonderful combination of connecting with nature and my own body 🙏
~ Squatting keeps the joints soft and the body flexible. Try squatting daily! 🐿
~ although temperatures are chilly in Denmark atm (5-8°C), it feels amazing to have bare feet, because the connection to the trees increases tenfold 🍂
Do you feel like climbing and hanging out with the squirrels? 🐿😁
