This burn will result in soreness that evening or the next day. The body is an amazing thing because it actually does repair itself after this. If you don't feel this burn, you're just moving your limb. The more pain you feel, the more amazing you feel at rest.

I don't know why people workout and get bigger. But the reason I started doing it again after 10 years is because I kept getting sick, losing teeth, suffering from back issues, eating fast food and having sleep problems. Got very sick. Lost a lot of weight. I still have a lot of problems so my road is still far ahead and full of milestones. But I wish to live a life that we deserve to live. A life that is meant for us NOT made for us. And it's all resulted by baby steps. So I take it today and today only. Then tomorrow will be today...and so on. Why should I think of August when July is still here with us? Bless.

I like to think of gratitude as a sort of frequency that you can tune your brain into. Sometimes it can be tough to find the signal, but it’s always worth the wait. The amazing thing about actively searching for things in your life to be grateful for, instead of constantly striving for future fulfilment, is that when you actually locate and maintain true feelings of gratitude, it’s impossible for negative feelings to exist simultaneously. Gratitude is the frigging trump card of positive emotions!

“I don’t have time.” Alright y’all, I’m giving you some tough love ❤️ and honestly it’s tough love that I’ve been given before too!

Life is always happening and you have things that you desire for your life. So instead of saying, “I’m too busy or don’t have time,” acknowledge that the things you truly want in life will take some of that time and if its really important you will make time otherwise you’ll continue to make the excuse (bc it is an excuse) that you don’t have time.

I think about this particularly in the health and wellness field since that’s my line of work. I have amazing women tell me their goals and then follow it up with the above “reasons” as to why they can’t. But I know they can, however they have to get to a point that it’s a PRIORITY.  We have to start prioritizing ourselves. Don’t wait until the doctor diagnosis you with some preventable disease to take charge. Don’t wait until after vacation. Don’t wait until the kids are grown. Don’t wait until xyz. Make the change now. You are so worth it.

TRYING NEW THINGS. I was very apprehensive about trying #intermittentfasting  because not eating for 18 strait hours sounded a little scary. But I have to say I’m so happy I have it a shot. The results I’m getting in 2 short weeks are unreal and it’s actually a very easy strategy for me to use. The best part about it is the leaner you get, the looser you can be about WHAT you eat. Which is great for on the go. Don’t be afraid to try new things!

#tbt Here I am, 14 months ago, right after after my daughter was born. We went to the botanic gardens with my mom and I was feeling great. When this picture was taken, I remember thinking I looked pretty good for just having had a baby three days before— and I did. But that’s not the story. The story is that I gained another 25lbs AFTER her birth due to a lack of exercise, large portion sizes, and unhealthy foods. I used nursing and exhaustion as a justification for my bad choices. Nine months later, when my asthma put me in the hospital overnight, I decided something had to change. I wanted to be healthier for my kids, my husband and myself. So, I started working out every day and eating a low carb diet. I lost 20lbs in three months of doing this consistently. Then I discovered the keto way of eating and I’ve lost another 20lbs in the last four months. It’s been a journey of self-discipline, persistence and dedication. Sure, I’ve had a few “cheat” days but my goal is bigger than instant gratification now. So I struggle as a nail tech keeping up with my own nails. I've always had brittle ugly short snagged and just plane sad looking nails & cuticles. I've noticed since I've been juicing the strength, growth, and overall health of my nails have been one of the greatest #nsv I've had. Recently I picked up a rather unpleasant case of tennis elbow - How / why I am not quite sure? It really did just creep up on me!! Most likely, it was trying to balance the two worlds of being a classical guitar student and training as hard as I do. Good news however, in already 2 weeks, I have managed to greatly reduce the pain by NOT resting, but by getting good blood flow to the area with some specific wrist & elbow strengthening exercises. It is important to immediately begin strengthening the muscles & tendons in this situation, and getting as much oxygen to the area as possible. I will repeat myself: complete rest will not cure tennis elbow, neither will icing it help! I have also bought my handstand practices to the front of each session to act as a form of rehabilitation training. This also seems to be helping a lot due to the amount of control required by the smaller muscles around the wrists and elbows. One month of intermittent fasting and I feel a lot of improvements: More energy, less cravings, better sleep 😁

So far I've been applying time restricted eating between 12-20. However I read an interested text by @drjasonfung where he talked about combining time restricted eating with eating only early in the day to further reduce the insulin load. 
I'm now inspired to try that strategy and see if it's more in line with my circadian rythm. So I'm changing my eating pattern between 8am and 2 pm 💜

Looooove my morning smoothies, I drink the same one almost every day. It’s super easy—takes me like 5 minutes—and full of nutrients 🌱 The smoothie is 2 frozen bananas, coconut milk, cocoa powder, handful of spinach, 2 dates and 1 scoop chocolate @drinkorgain protein. On top is a handful of raw muesli 💖
