I’m trying out intermittent fasting today which uses a 16 hour fast followed by a 8 hour eating period. Posting a pic from June as I haven’t been out of the house today!  This #maxstudio dress is another #winnersfabfind, and the cardi is from Smart Set, which no longer exists!

Today is a low protein day on this program.  The days alternate between high and low protein, with the high days including a 30 minute workout, and the low days delaying eating until the end of 16 hours of intermittent fasting, with no workout.  That means no breakfast today!  I did not feel as hungry this morning as I did on Monday, and the autophaTea was a little more appetizing, if I can use that word describing this tea! 😜 I realized the cinnamon sticks I have are not good quality, so I just added cinnamon today instead of the recommended stick.  I also added a peppermint teabag to the mix. My tea combos have always included peppermint for years now, so that made it a  little more familiar for me!  The other thing I did was put less water in, so there wouldn’t be as much to force down.  Interestingly, the oil seemed to blend a little better, which is probably the reason it was more drinkable!

 I find I’m looking forward to the AvocaGlow, which is the first thing to eat each day.  It’s half an avocado with oil, lemon juice, sea salt, and red pepper flakes. It’s delicious!  Avocados are part of many recipes in this program. -
As on the low protein day on Monday, I was really hungry again about an hour after the first meal.  The book has recipes for snacks and there is no calorie counting, so I’m not sure if there are any limits on how much snacking I should be doing.  I haven’t made any of the snack recipes, but have been eating dark chocolate, pumpkin seeds, and blueberries, which are all on the food list guidelines.  Even so, I’m feeling a bit shaky and foggy headed today.  It’s been really humid all week and I haven’t been sleeping well, which might be part of the reason for this.  Hoping I’ll feel better tomorrow, or the workout won’t be fun!

Definitely been so MIA past few days, but I guess that’s what’s expected when you move🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m so grateful to finally be able to sit out back with my cup of @pukkaherbs cleanse blend and of course my lovely MCT oil 👍🏼 I’ve definitely been very non keto this weekend but I will not let it affect me and I will move on because there’s nothing I can do to change the past. Just to make sure my future is successful ✌🏼 Now let’s talk about this tea 🍵 I absolutely LOVE pukka and their blends. So far I’ve only had the chance to try 3 blends but am definitely hooked with their cleanse blend. It’s honestly a lifesaver. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough #Keto Fat Bombs...probably the dumbest thing to make while being on a 60hr Keto Reboot, but I know you miss my hotmess in the kitchen so here’s another easy #fatbomb to make... 8oz cream cheese
8tbs grassfed butter
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1/3 cup swerve
1/4 cup cocoa nibs (you can use Lilly’s chocolate chips instead)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp Himalayan sea salt 
Mix all ingredients, Freeze for 15-20 mins, scoop out mix into a ball and freeze the rest you’re not eating...DONE!

Now fasting 36h. I drink tapwater, mineral water, coffee (I know, but I am not there yet!) and herbal tea. I feel great and clearminded. The longest I've gone is 88h. Unfortunately, as of yet, I've not been that good at breaking fasts. I try to progress slowly with small meals but eat too many and too quickly 🙈 This is the reason why I prefer shorter fasts (24-36h)

Since I'm still on a BBQ kick, decided to make those slow cooker pork back ribs that I made last week again. Made another batch of my no sugar added BBQ sauce, added a side of broccoli, and dinner was good to go 👍👌

My little sister and I were in a foster home and the dad told me he was gonna fix it for me. Mind you I didn't ever see it as broken. But ok, let's see what ya have in mind. After a night sleep with duct tape holding a penny against it.....well....the turkey is still done and I still dont think its broke. Shortcakes:
4 tbsp butter
4 oz cream cheese
4 eggs
1/4 cup Pyure
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon extract
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup almond flour

Bake 25 minutes in 300 degree oven. I used a silicone pan from Amazon. Recipe made six 4” round cakes.

Bake 25 minutes in 300 degree oven. I used a silicone pan from Amazon. Recipe made six 4” round cakes. . Now fasting 36h. I drink tapwater, mineral water, coffee (I know, but I am not there yet!) and herbal tea. I feel great and clearminded. The longest I've gone is 88h. Unfortunately, as of yet, I've not been that good at breaking fasts. I try to progress slowly with small meals but eat too many and too quickly 🙈 This is the reason why I prefer shorter fasts (24-36h)

Just got home from a weekend away visiting my mom! I didn't do the best with my diet but I didnt go completely off track either, the insane amount of walking we did definitely paid off! 💚
I'm finally out of the 380s and couldn't be happier...when I created this account last year the lowest I got was 382 and then i slowly gained weight over the summer and fall. I'm so happy that I've gotten that weight back off
 and I'm finally below where I was last May!

Back in 2012, my highest weight was 372, so I'm not far from my "old" high weight. And from mid 2012 to early 2014 I lost 90 lbs. I'm just happy to be here because I did it once, I know I can lose it again, and this time I'm going to keep on losing until I reach my goal!

Emotional day! I’ve known I had PCOS since I was about 22. I’ve known my body didn’t work right since I was 14. But today was the first time I’ve ever had an ultrasound to really SEE the “cysts” that live around the ovaries. I didn’t have time to snap a photo of my own ultrasound picture but this one looks exactly the same. Doctor said, “Classic PCO presentation of ‘string of pearls’ around both ovaries.” .

He gave me the run around on the normal drugs (birth control, metformin, clomid 🙄) like I was a newbie 😏. And then I told him my last three cycles were normal because of ketogenic eating.  He was shocked that based on the photo I had normal cycles, which used to be 90 days apart. (The photo is a CLEAR indication that I use to have abnormal periods and didn’t ovulate.) .

So. Baby steps. First, I regulated my cycles and am working on my hormones that are out of range (DHEA, Free + Total Testosterone). The doctor said if I keep doing what I’m doing there is no reason I can’t ovulate with a few more cycles. .

It only motivates me more than I’m on the cusp of ovulation with keto. Doctor said 3-4 normal cycles should spark ovulation. So cross your fingers for me while I cross this next PCOS bridge holistically. .

Came home and checked my #ketone + #glucose numbers. 87 is an awesome glucose number after eating dinner! And a 2.5 ketone reading is a result of my #intermittantfasting the last few days. I’ve been loving fasting and feel awesome so I’m sticking to it. 💪🏼 Luckily, I’m a stubborn bitch. 🤩

Today was a great day with a challenging finish. .
I’ve been following a very strict keto and intermittent fasting eating protocol for the last three months and have been feeling fantastic. I’ve  lost 15 pounds and am almost back to my preferred walking around weight. All great stuff. .
I also stopped drinking coffee ☕️ almost a year ago. I stick to decaf Americanos 99% of the time and indulge in the very occasional espresso. .
So back to today.  I didn’t bring quite enough food with me to work, didn’t sleep enough last night and, being at work, I totally forgot to drink enough water.  So by 3:30 I was tired and hungry and had the brilliant idea of getting a double long espresso. . 
Big, huge, monster mistake. . 
Within two hours I started feeling super shaky. And by 6:00 I was feeling anxious and very weak. All the feelings I’ve been working very hard to eliminate over the last 12 months. . 
So here’s my take away:  feeling great for me is fleeting. It requires me to be rigorous about my diet, my exercise regimen and my sleep. .
Moral of this story - stay on my game, stick with the plan and take care of all my basic needs before anything else. .

Before I tell you about Day 2,  I have to say how much I love this denim jacket from @laurapetiteplus with the triple strand of pearls on the collar! I even paid full price for it, which I almost never do! Lol!

I didn’t have space to say anything about meals yesterday!  I’ll start by saying that yesterday and today were very different!

Meal 1:  Because yesterday was a “High” day I had to eat the AvocaGlow (high) and a high Egg15.  I hadn’t prepared the Egg15 recipe ahead of time, so I decided to combine the two, and make scrambled eggs with sautéed veggies and cheddar cheese, and put the avocado on top!  I took a quick pic (yesterday’s post) before digging in!  By this time, I was starving and it was pretty tasty!  Four eggs scrambled, though,is a lot of egg, and I was full for hours afterwards!

Fast forward to today, which is a low protein and intermittent fasting (and no exercise) day, so no eating until lunch time!  I was so hungry that I was almost looking forward to the tea! Lol! I decided I would make a batch of the Egg15 meals, which are part of the first meal every day!  The main difference in the high and low Egg15 meals is that the the low meals contain egg yolks, while the high meals contain whole eggs plus the whites from the low meal eggs. Being the brilliant chef that I am 🙄, I decided to use the same ingredients and bake the high and low together (in muffin pans). I used the same sautéed veggies for all to make it easier. What I didn’t take into account was that the volume of the high mixture would be much greater than the low mixture of just yolks. Even after I spilled at least an egg on the floor (don’t ask! Lol), the six high tins were filled to the top, and the six low were less than half full!  Long story short, the “lows” were over baked and the “highs” were still not baked!

While the eggs were baking I had the autophaTea.  Even being so hungry, it was still 😝 (I wonder if I can just eat the coconut oil while I’m drinking the tea!?). I made the low AvocaGlow according to recipe this time - with oil, sea salt, and red pepper flakes - and it was pretty tasty; as were the low Egg15 muffins!

First thing I saw when I changed my entire lifestyle, was the amount of cooking I would have to do! I never was one to cook. I liked baking a lot more. Following steps and instructions was easier for me.

Lately though my cook of a husband has been LOVING my food and letting me cook more in the kitchen. Which was his "house" as he always says. @dman609 will confirm I've come a long way. I did an OMAD (One Meal A Day) yesterday after breaking an 18-hour fast and then started a fresh fast — I had two waves of hunger but really wanted to play with that. I mindfully experienced the hunger and thought about: is this physical hunger or emotional hunger? am I just thirsty? am I short on electrolytes? do I feel run down or physically tired? 
I discovered that the hunger sensation passed both times after drinking water (ketorade = water, sea salt + essential oils), and I don’t feel run down at all. In fact, I feel really energized and am looking forward to working out at 4pm. I could have stopped my fast at 18 hours but I’m not hungry so I’m just gonna keep going until lunchtime!

So I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and try something new for a couple of weeks!  And while doing my first workout today, I had the brilliant/idiotic idea to blog about it here on IG!😜 -
About a month ago, I saw an interview that @drmercola (my health guru) did with @naomiwhittel about her health research and her #glow15 program/book!  What really got me was this word: AUTOPHAGY!  Have you heard of it?  Apparently, it’s the key to looking and feeling younger!  Well, I decided I had to have me some of that, and ordered her book and bergamot earl grey tea on @amazon.  I got the book first and read it.  The bergamot tea arrived on Friday!  I didn’t shop for groceries, so I’m not as prepared as I could be, but here goes! By the way, I just checked her IG page!  There are no long periods of fasting on this program like her recent videos!  Will not be doing that! 😱

DAY ONE:
I was feeling pretty sluggish after lots of junk food last night (also, I’m not a morning person) and almost decided to scrap the idea, but feeling proud that I didn’t! Everyday starts with AutophaTea. I had all the ingredients except the sweetener, which is optional.  Can’t say I liked it very much, although I love coconut oil in everything else!
Next up, HIIT workout. I used to do a 12 minute HIIT twice a week, but stopped because of knee and wrists problems.  Liquid collagen has resolved those issues, and I recently started doing HIIT again on the treadmill , but less than once a week.  So, I was not looking forward to this, especially as the slow intervals are less than half the length of what I was doing! Also, the idea of doing a strenuous activity before breakfast was almost incomprehensible to me!  But since that’s part of what creates that AUTOPHAGY, I compromised by making the slow intervals a little longer (1 minute) and slowing down the fast interval a bit!  It was not as bad as expected and I felt pretty good afterwards! The best thing: Can relax tonight! Lol!
