ARC 401 Richard + Bauer Architecture Prize entry | University of Arizona Center for Information and Collaboration | CIC | Connect
Connect serves as not only a space for, but an embodiment of collaboration within the University of Arizona campus network, bringing a wide array of students together as a hub for interdisciplinary research. The project adheres to and surpasses many universal design standards, inherently focusing in on total user experience through a monumental, sloped circulatory path as well as stimulation of the senses, particularly for those with mobility, audiological, and visual impairments.
Material choice and programmatic organization work harmoniously to deliver a multi-modal and spacial experience to all.

Summer at Harvard GSD. Designing a new typology for Harvard’s “Theater House”. One of the biggest challenge of this project was to create a new Harvard housing typology with the theme “theater” that is both a private dwelling for students placed within the theater housing while simultaneously creating a civic hub that engages the public in Harvard’s culture. More on this later. #instudiorender#aiasinstudio#harvardgsd#harvard#ksu#aia#ksuarchitecture#architecture
Isolated cabin in the woods testing out an adaptable facade system that can be physically interactive. The panels can rotate to create horizontal planes that you can sit on. Rotating one module changes the entire component and the way light is filter into the interior space... #instudiorender#aiasinstudio#ksu#ksuarchitecture
DrySea project pavilion design. (More context in previous post). Views from inside of the vortex and social pond. Throughout the site there’s a number of “social ponds” at different scales, the scale dictates the amount of people that can gather around ranging from single space isolated ponds to large group social areas. The pond has two layer the top layer where the pebbles are is walkable you can go out and watch the fishes swim from the deep section to more shallow top layer. The idea is create awareness for ocean pollution so it is the public’s job to maintain the ponds. #oceanpollution . #aiasinstudio#instudiorender#ksuarchitecture#ksu#architecture
I don’t usually post my designs but here goes. The concept driving this design is the idea of bringing the light of the ocean to Marietta square, transforming the site into a niche aquatic hub that celebrates the ocean in its purest form. To do so i created a transparent material that recreates the caustic reflection that occurs when light interact with water in motion. Essentially I’m bringing the atmospheric qualities of the sea to land in a way that promotes civic engagement; raising our awareness of the beauty of the sea thus evoking the need to protect it from pollution. #aiasinstudio#instudiorender#ksuarchitecture#ksu#architecture
Library interior design is transitioning to place of collaborative working and information sharing. This design provides curated zones for quiet study and vibrant social interactions that makes all individuals feel welcome to share in this space and discover the library as their own.

Badger 210 is a sustainable park destination in Oak Ridge aiming to set a technological precedent for low energy residential development in the secret city, while accommodating double height parkside views on both facades.
On the southern side, a modular screen made from river cane native to the southeast region provides shading for an outdoor performance space and a rooftop venue. The project employs 34 geothermal wells within the park development and 236 solar panels mounted on the horizontal areas of the screen.

Acoustic Shells, a meditation cabin placed in a Latvian forest. The shell is designed to gather sounds from the forest focusing them onto the user. A small living space is attached with enough accommodations to hold a person for 5 days. @aiasorg @aiasltu @vectorworks #architecturecompetition#aiasinstudio#instudiorender#acousticshell
Interior of “A Community Food Hall”, highlighting one of the central Food Bars of the facility. The building is designed around a Mass Timber structure that informs the location of the Food Bar and the Dining Booths. Designed in senior studio, Building Design I - F18.

This perspective shows the collaborative studio space that sits in the center of mixed-use social housing project. Coupled with the program of Single room occupancy (SRO), this space is an incubator for social interactions and artistic ideas. @vectorworks @aiasorg #AIASInstudio#InStudioRender
Under Reflectance | A scene can capture a moment in time, generating a narrative that involves the imaginary, transcending into a quest for “place” in architecture.
The panoramic scene is an embodied image that is perceived between the midpoint of a crystalline, spellbinding lake and a refuge set in the land owning a feeling of delight, surrounded by the frame of the mysterious foliage. A light from the cabin emerges from far away, in a lowly way. The structure of the cabin seems to exhale from the earth surrounded by a slight line of mist. Metamorphosis occurs between body mind, light and shadow, movement and motionless, water and land in a bewildering moment, simultaneously the forest embraces the cabin into its setting creating a relationship to the context, therefore, understanding place. Natural light is encountered and creates a silhouette shadow inside the cabin leaving the scene to one’s imagination. Once all the senses have been connected and one feels part of the experience the embodiment of a place has been attained. #AIASInstudio#aiasinstudio#InStudioRender#instudiorender
I’ve had a lot of fun the past few weeks learning how to render and experimenting with different styles! These are some takes on my current project, the Center for Environmental Research. @aiasorg @vectorworks #aiasinstudio#instudiorender
I know these are scary and concerning renders of my project, but if you are an AIAS member, post your sketch/render for the chance to win a cash prize and be showcased at AIAS Forum 2018. Tag the AIAS National Office ( @aiasorg ) on Instagram and use the following hashtags. Also include a short description (1-2 sentences) over what your sketch/render is about. #aiasinstudio#instudiorender
Mine? Houston Consuming Center is an adaptive reuse project that functions as the city's visitor center. Utilizing AI, the kinetic installation projects images of Houston locations based on the social media feed of tourists as they walk around the space. It's form shifts to create small nooks as strangers come closer together. The goal is to enable thoughtful conversations among locals and visitors in a spread-out city that does not foster enough social interactions and connectivity between the two.

Interior design renderings from our final architecture Kunsthal project in Copenhagen. A Kunsthal is an adaptive building that houses traveling and changing modern art exhibitions. My design focuses on three main rooms that radiate from the community center and can house various types of art installations.
