Instructor Z - 1st Deg. Black Belt
Instructor Rayne Zaughsome has over 5 years of experience training in the martial arts. He is currently a certified instructor in the Southern Shaolin Tiger Crane system. He also has a background in grappling and holds the rank of 2nd kyu in Aikido through the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba. Instructor Z. continues his martial arts journey by training in Northern Shaolin Long Fist, 9 Section Chain, Ehme Bagua Zhang, Shaolin Qi Gong, Daoist Meditation and performing on the Sacred Mountain Lion Dance team.
In addition to his martial training, Instructor Z. has over a decade of experience mentoring and facilitating. With an emphasis on young adults, he has worked with people of all ages in the realms of nature studies, wilderness skills, youth empowerment, teamwork and leadership, service learning programs, as well as, sport and adventure education. These experiences have, in turn, led him to teach mentoring and facilitation skills to other leaders in these communities.
Instructor Z. is currently a co-instructor for the Sacred Mountain Youth Demonstration Team and teaches a Chinese Martial Arts class to university students through the NAU FIT program.

☠️ I had my client, Joseph perform this intense back and biceps workout this week! Luckily he’s as strong as an Ox! He’s also already lost well over 20lbs since we first started working together and is signing up for the new Shred challenge to take that progress to the next level!! This workout really activates some neglected muscles due to the unilateral (one sided) movements allowing you to really hit those bigger and heavier lifts later on that we more commonly do. 💪🏻 This will increase his overall strength and muscularity especially by doing the closed chain (feet on floor/freeweight) movements that engage the core. Give this one a try!
Perform each at either 8-10 heavy reps X 3 sets or 60seconds each lighter weight X 4 sets. Use challenging weight for each but never sacrifice quality.
1️⃣ Gorilla Rows (Heavy)
2️⃣ Ball Slams (emphasis on lat engagement on throw)
3️⃣ KB ISO pull apart (2 birds 1 stone. Bicep killer and external rotation of the humerus)
4️⃣ Single arm cable pull down with rotation. (Engages forearms, biceps, delts and back more than foxes grip)
5️⃣ DB upright row/lateral raise combo. (Another 2 for 1. Medial Delt plus external rotation. This time also engaging more upper back for improved posture/alignment)

Tip #13 : Write it down or check it off.
Keep a daily log of your workouts, how you feel before and after, your water, and any other health actions that will get you to your goals. Not only will you feel a blast of accomplishment each time you check off a workout or hit that 100oz water goal, but you will be able to look back as you progress and see how far you've come.
Oh, and during the holidays, when your schedule starts to go off the rails, post your calendar or log where you and your loved ones HAVE to see it throughout the day. Let them know that, if they see the unchecked or empty box after a certain hour (say 5pm) they can stop you and demand 10 burpees (or whatever exercise you despise most). TRUST ME, you'll be more than motivated to get those workouts in after your first day of that! 😊😲😁 #healthyholidays#healthtips#familyfun
