What a beautiful day ☀️
This has got to be my most favourite time of the year for running. You start off a bit nippy but in no time at all are having a mini sweatfest in the lovely sunshine 💦 -
Rest day for me on the plan today but over the years with the four children I have learnt to be as flexible with my plans as I can be as long as I get it done or sometimes not as the case my be! -
I’d decided to switch my rest day to later in the week & planned a gym sesh & track with the club tonight as I need to switch my week up and change my long run on Sunday to Saturday as it’s mini me’s birthday -
Then I could only get a Dr app for mini me this evening so out the window went track & gym instead heading to Pitville Park this morning to get my run in. I think it’s a beautiful park and where our parkrun is held not far from where I live . It turned out to be one of those runs that’s so beautiful it lights up your soul. The sun was shining, the sky blue, we did a few laps of the lake at a lovely easy pace, and what was so stunning was the colour of the trees as I was running, looking at this one beautiful green tree it’s leaves turning a stunning fiery-red I noticed a cheeky little squirrel. I tried to capture him up on two legs looking about on camera🐿 but he was so tiny he doesn’t show up that well ▶️📷 We then did a cool down jog to the other lake where the swans are with their signets & passed the pump rooms & bandstand 🦆
The parent juggle struggle is real for us all in our training but I find the best way to cope is to be as flexible as you can & hopefully like me you get an awesome run out of it 👌🏻Or if not there always tomorrow 💖

Is it the massage creams, the lotion, the anti-friction creams or the sunscreen? Or is it the sports grip or the weather protection facial

Breaking in the new shoes (@saucony Ride ISO) with a 2.5 mile run on the trails. Thanks @runnersroost --------
On The Blog! I credit my wild imagination and crazy dreams to growing up as an only child. I could live in my mind for hours in my room, alone, creating a whole new world. It’s shaped me to be the optimistic, dreamer I am today. A few months ago I decided I should start back running. I hadn’t ran competitively since high school which was eight years ago. It should come as no surprise that just as soon as I decided to lace up my shoes and hit the ground running, I’d already started dreaming of qualifying for the Olympic team, breaking world records for fastest half-marathon and winning the $150,000 prize money at the Boston Marathon. These thoughts all danced around my head before I’d even set a training schedule.
The downfall of my dreamer complex is just as you’d imagine, a small set-back can feel like a failure and a failure can seem like the end of the world. Thankfully, when it comes to running I’ve had a lot of practice managing my mind and the expectations it creates. I don’t spend too much glamorizing the what-if’s, I just love a good run. Leia's way of saying she's loving our run 🐶🐾 #MyRollDog 🏃🏿♀️Here's the funny part of running - some days you don't want to run and you convince yourself to just run 1 mile; then you get on the trails and you never want to leave, especially if your tail-wagging adventure buddy is trekking next to you. Ran 3.39 mi with Leia today in between clients. I can tell she loves these runs! We ran in this beautiful park next to a field of sunflowers, Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods in the distance; I am truly grateful for another day on the trails with my favorite girl.
