When in Delft... 💙 This classic blue and white china are found in every shop in this small town in the Netherlands. The most prestigious Delft “Blauw”, as it is called, comes from the Royal Delft company and is sold with a certificate of authenticity. There are other local shops that hand paint their pottery and this can also be considered real “Delfts Blauw”. If your standards (and budget) are lower, then I highly recommend visiting the daily flea market that wraps around the pedestrian streets in the town center. There’s lots of Delft china, and I’ve been told you can even find Royal Delft Blauw at the flea market - and the prices are very reasonable because the piece won’t come with the certificate of authenticity. Some vendors at the flea market had ridiculously low prices and others were fair or even a bit high. I really loved seeing all the different objects there. I even found an old watch that fits me perfectly. Now to just find someone who can put in a new battery!
