This afternoon we came home from hospital. It has been established that Levi has developed a very strong oral aversion. I don’t know that we will ever find out what the cause was for him to stop feeding, but it’s very clear that he is fearful of feeding at the moment & would prefer to be dehyrated & literally starving rather than eat.
It’s been suggested that perhaps like premmies, the sheer amount of medical crap that he has had going on in his short little life may have contributed or it could be due to the increase in issues with his airway & how much work it was taking for him to feed.
Either way, he needs nutrition & hydration so it’s been decided that for now he will be fed via an ng tube while we work intensively with his speech & feeding team to address his aversion.
If you’ve followed our journey for a while, you’d know that we’ve been here before with Lily. There are quite a few memories floating around that we would rather not remember. I’m hoping we can avoid the tube coming out so much this time around.
Massive thanks to my amazing husband & both our families for holding the fort while we were in hospital. & a huge thanks to a beautiful friend who cooked us a stack of food to help take the pressure off.
MUMLIFE // Make a Date with Yourself
This wellness Wednesday I encourage you to schedule time to do something you love, whether it’s reading a book, pampering yourself or simply enjoying a peaceful cuppa.
It can be pretty challenging to find time for yourself when you’re a parent but scheduling it in your diary helps make it a priority and increases the chance of it happening!
Don’t forget your partner might like some time for themselves too. Why not agree to give each other some me time by taking it in turns to look after the kids for an hour or two on the weekend.
My everything! 🐒
We braved the heat this morning between 7.30 and 8.30am for some playtime and a photoshoot for @vayskingdom
Started to get hot towards the end...but Jack had a ball exploring the awesome playgrounds and the general decor at La Mer!
I think I will be setting my alarm earlier so we can get outside when it's (relatively) cool!
As much as I enjoy being pregnant, I also enjoy running, doing high intensity training with high jumps and burpees, walking fast and wearing jeans 😎//Как бы мне не нравилось быть беременной, мне также очень нравится бегать, делать интенствные тренировки с прыжками и берпи, очень быстро ходить и носить джинсы 😎
The kind of #vibe I like when the kids are home in the school holidays. The LEGO is out- sometimes the sun and a few moments of slowing down are just what we all need.
#peaceandcalming is a combination of tangerine, orange, ylang ylang, patchouli and blue tansy. It will dampen tension and uplift your spirits.
Unless you allow yourself to make mistakes, to fail, to fall, you will never have the opportunity to test the limits of what you truly are capable of accomplishing. 😳 #TruthBomb
You cannot hole up in the safe zone of behaviour where you have beaten the odds of failing. An unwillingness to encounter defeat or run into problems outlaws success and growth. 😵 #MakeMistakes
Think of problems, falls, pain, discomfort, fear or slippage in performance as a positive sign. Don’t interpret them as proof you should quit, but instead take them as evidence of your growth and improvement.
