Every moment can’t be perfect. In fact very few are. On instagram we tend to find a lot of “perfect” moments, or as close as we can get to capturing them. Real life though is anything but. This picture reminds me that imperfection can still be beautiful, even if your ribbon (burlap) is out of place. Celebrate your imperfections, for within those imperfections is a beauty far more relatable & inspiring than what we delight in for being “picture perfect”. I hope we can all learn to love how imperfectly perfect each of us are & even cut ourselves a little slack sometimes. I for one will be doing just that tonight. As I ignore the long list of things out of place, I intend to kick back and take in my favorite holiday classic “White Christmas”. I’m going enjoy things just the way they are right now in this moment because I know I’ll never get this exact moment again. .
“A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sun beams and you will always looks lovely.” -Roald Dahl, The Twits
