But why do you do it? If you’re doing it to impress someone, gain followers, wealth, fame, or for anything materialistic, then you’re missing out on the joy it brings when you do it for you. Do things for you. Be selfish. Inspire yourself first. Impress yourself. Do things you thought you couldn’t and become the person who you want to be.
And if others follow suit because they see the pure joy it brings you and the way it betters you then you have something wonderful to celebrate. Because your joy and love for something inspired someone else, without you even trying to do so. Do it for you first. .
I'm changing things up a little here!
💞 [Reposting for a clearer image.]
In fact big changes are taking place - it's like a domino effect. I have been on a journey discovering myself. Digging deep and finding what inspires me, what inspires change within me, and how I can serve others. I have been tapping into the energy that flows from following my passion and basking in that joy. I have been listening to myself. Listening to what my body needs to feel healthy, what my mind needs for stimulation, and what my heart needs to feel full. 💞
In going with that fun energy I decided I wanted to share a little more colour on my Instagram feed. Hey, if I have to look at it while I'm creating it - it should be cheery and light for me too.
If you're in the process of changing things up in your life and breaking free from the anxious "chains" ⛓ holding you back, and want more tools to help you get their faster type #break -free in the comments section. 💞

‘You paint what you know is there, not what you can see.’ ☀️🌹☀️ I noted this quote down from an artist featured on a documentary about the Paris Luminaries, and it helps me remember that we are creative beings who can fashion the kind of existence we desire. When we look around at what surrounds us now, that’s from how we saw things in the past. But we can create any kind of future that we want, from the thoughts in our mind. I love that! 🌟⭐️🌟 I love to read that quote and almost mediate on it, about what it says to me. What about you? What does this quote say to you? 💫✨💫
Late last spring I was at a retreat and in a session the facilitator asked us to tell a short story from our life that really sums up who we are to the group. If you know me, you know I have so many stories!
I was at a loss, which one was meant for this group, for this time. At the last moment I remembered the story of basically how I fired and then covertly reassembled my doctoral committee when I felt things had gone awry because of the leader -- the woman that was supposed to be mentoring me and making sure I got through with integrity was up to no good. At that time I felt betrayed and paralyzed. But I found a way, a pathway that didn't put me at war, but did set me up for victory.
That's how I do things. Peace making isn't easier. But it's a creative process that must be respected, no matter who understands or doesn't.
Now here I am again remembering my stories and drawing strength from them. How often do you tell your stories to yourself? Recall your own creativity, integrity, generosity. Take some time today and remember. I'm sure you'll be inspired.
Have you censored yourself for social media? You know, typed a post, then deleted it because it made you seem like your life wasn’t perfect? We are all guilty of it! There are so many of us that want our lives to look perfect on social media. We need to get that GramWorthy shot, so we clean our house first. We need to show everyone all of the new things we’ve bought because you know, WE GOT IT LIKE DAT! We do our hair and makeup before we go live and the say the gold old, “sorry I look so bad! I haven’t had time to get ready today. “ 😂😂😂😂 well I have news for you, you’re not fooling anyone, and you’re certainly not doing yourself any favors when it comes to growing your account. .
I always made my life seem perfect on my personal Facebook and Instagram. I wanted everyone that’s ever known me to be jealous and to think, why isn’t my life as wonderful as hers! Admit it, that’s why we all do it. We want our ex’s to see that we’re thriving and our haters to wanna be us.
Even when I started this account I wanted to seem perfect to my followers and potential future clients.. but then I realized something. Everyone is trying to be perfect. I’m blending into the sea of perfect Instagram girls that no one can relate to. So six months ago, I decided to stop. .
I decided to be 100% me. I decided to be authentically who I am, and to show you guys the good, the bad, the ugly, and the sometimes hard to talk about. Especially this last month, when I’ve been using my work to actually SAY SOMETHING, I’ve gotten to know so many people with the same struggles as me. I’ve gotten to inspire so many people by giving them a message they needed to hear. It is so freeing and fulfilling to literally say and post whatever the hell I want to. I encourage you to do the same! Drop that facade and you will feel so much more free, and your followers will love you even more! You may lose a few at first, but they’re not REAL fans anyways. Your real fans will stick around when you shed your skin. I promise. .

Drywall makes such a difference.
It gives new perspective as well. We realized last night that the lights for over our table were in the wrong place and if they stayed there...they would either be over our dining chair, out of center big-time, or the table would have to be pushed back and we wouldn’t have been able to open the door. 😳😩
What a lesson in life. If we always look at things from the same perspective and never get out of our comfort zones, we don’t get to see things in a way to have greatest success.
I love life lessons...but I’m not liking that I have to come up with extra money for the electrician & the drywaller to fix my problem.

In the picture on the left I was just starting to make some positive changes in my life 😍 This was the beginning. I was surrounded by the people I love the most! I was happy 🙌🏼 I still felt so uncomfortable in my skin tho 🤦🏼♀️
I was starting to realize that I really wanted to work on my personal growth and always become the best version of me. So I started working on myself from the INSIDE. •
I found out how good it felt to workout... how much it helped my anxiety 🏋️♀️... What does "home" mean to you?
A while back, my lady @k8rising and I posed in this parody of the classic American Gothic 1930 painting by Grant Wood
I’m sharing this picture/post in response to a challenge my good friend/brother @resilient_being asked me to join.. Digging into the meaning of ‘home’:
"At first the thought of this may remind you of your family, your house, the people you live with, etc...But, what if we thought of the idea of home in terms of a state of mind or feeling? Reframing the context from our external world to our internal world." .
In the picture you may see this couple you know or are getting to know...or maybe you have no clue who we are. What I see is two people that were embarking on an incredible journey called life. Not long prior to the picture, we didn’t know one another existed nor did we know ourselves very well.
At around the same time, both of us realized we needed a huge change in our lives and felt the draw of a soul mate.
Through the process of getting to know one another, my partner and I started exploring different possibilities in what a relationship to God would look like that is not in the context of established religion. We built our foundation upon that relationship and the discoveries about ourselves that came along with it. This co-evolution has dramatically shaped my state of being.
Long story short, we dove in to love and introspection and prayer and five years later feel as if we're getting stronger individually, as a couple, and now as a family.
I've never felt more purpose, warmth and comfort, and am ever grateful for our divine parent guiding us. .
This is home!
