🇬🇧 Before putting up the ledge at Seal Cove for our first suspended night together, we practised putting it up in a tree. It is so simple and well designed that it never took more than 5 minutes even once hanging in our harnesses.
A portaledge is one of those pieces of gear that brings out your inner child. Despite the limited comfort, we feel like sleeping in surprising places is one of the most rewarding experiences. .
Looking forward to sleeping above the mythical Yosemite Valley in October. .
I flew by Ka`a`awa Valley yesterday for the first time without taking a single photo. It was majestic. I though about putting a blank photo up to talk about how it's good to get out from behind our cameras, blah, blah. And it is. But I wanted you to see its beauty. So now picture flying by this slowly, and for 30 seconds watching as it expands and envelopes your eyes and senses.
See, it's fun :-)

I'm a huge dog lover! So when I discovered @viajarandroll on Instagram and saw that Eva and Sergio were cycling Norway with their pup Mus I was intrigued (and more than a little envious). I had the great pleasure of meeting up with @viajarandroll a few days back. Mus is absolutely adorable and seems to be a natural on the road. She was trotting right alongside Sergio and Eva, completely unperturbed by passing vehicles.
I've come across a few Instagrammers traveling with pets. @longhaultruckers did a multi-year cycle tour with their dogs. Stefania Cioldi (@sheisaround) found a kitten on the road in South America and spontaneously adopted it. They toured together as the kitten grew and are now in Switzerland.
Know of any other folks on tour with their pets? Maybe you've toured with your dog. Let me know! I really want to adopt a dog but hubby is not having it. The more proof I have that cycling with pets works, the more hope I have that World Biking will become 3!
These days roadsigns in Iran are written in roman letters too. In 2004 (long before we discovered cycling), a taxi from the turkmen border dropped us off in a city still unknown to us – we couldn't read anything! But it sure was NOT Mashad, where we were meant to go ... we still haven't been to Mashad.
Hello my gorgeous people. Missed me as much as I missed you?
For the past 3 weeks we’ve been in Dubai living life UNEXPECTEDLY. Crazy situations, happy tears, sad tears, jumps for joy and the overthinking killer.
Life is unexpected and interesting. It’s how you deal with it. I choose to see the best out of every situation but I have to say it’s my faith that makes me strong. What’s your strong suit ?
