I believe we are all creative, we are all artists and that maybe for those who say “I’m not creative” or I have no artistic talent” it’s just that they haven’t been still and quiet enough to allow themselves to feel, see, hear or explore what their own creative talent is. Maybe we spend so much time being in awe of the creative talent of others and looking outside ourselves for ideas about what we could be or create that we miss all the incredible unique creativity that is always flowing inside, just waiting for us to stop and tap into it. I feel like we are in a beautiful time of awakening, when more and more people are recognizing the genius within themselves and having the courage to let it out into the world for all to share and experience. To me it seems true that we are each given these seeds of creative genius not just for ourselves, but also to lift, enrich and colour the lives of others. So maybe our only purpose in life is to practice creating space for deep inner listening and allow space for our inner artist to express the truth of who we really are. Wouldn’t it be a lovely world to live in if we were all seeing this in each other, and inspiring each other to just go for it. Namaste - the light love creativity genius artist in me bows down and honors that which is in each and every other human being. What a beautiful sentiment. Imagine walking down the street and looking people in the eyes and saying this to each and every one. Letting them know that all they need is there within them and that we each encourage each other to fully express our true creative natures. Desa really has been created for others as a space to come to feel into themselves to begin to hear their truth and maybe get a glimpse of what life could be like if they had the courage to truly commit to it. To fully expand into their true nature and share their creative genius with others. #namaste#retreat#nurture#connect#create#expand#truenature#authentic#yogalife#inspire#encourage#eachother
MY MY MY how my perception has changed
You couldn’t pay me money to have a moment like this when I was drinking
You see before- moments like this would be an annoyance to me because it was taking away from me taking pulls off the bottle.
I couldn’t see how precious and beautiful these moments were
I LIVE FOR THEM. THESE MOMENTS ARE EVERYTHING
I want to ask you something:
Are you missing out on EPIC- AWESOME- BEAUTIFUL moments because you’re too hungover? You’re too involved with yourself to notice anything else?
Do you read this and get immediately uncomfortable because you know it’s true?
(I’m going to put this out there- if I was reading this when I was too involved I myself I would get angry at this post and stop reading because deep deep deeeeeeep down- I knew it was true)
So I am here on the other side and I get it. I get the denial. I get it that you shutdown. I get it that you might not see anything wrong with the way you are acting
I see you. I am here for you.
Let’s Make Shift Happen so deeeeep down- you don’t have to feel that awful feeling that you know you can do better. Much better :)
About 4 years ago I started painting. It began out if necessity... I had a blank wall, and very little money. So, to fill it, I decided to get some cheap canvasses and paint. I’ve never taken an art class beyond what’s required for elementary school, but I figured I could come up with something. Having no formal training, I’ve developed artistic skills by trial and error. 🎨
Painting is like everything else in life... sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s tedious. Sometimes it seems like it will never be what I envisioned in my head... but the trick I’ve learned is to keep going. 🎨
Every painting there’s a point where it’s just plain ugly tbh 😂 I always think “This is terrible” as I look at the mess I’ve created. Then I remind myself “I’m just not done yet”. And that’s the truth... it’s not a horrible painting... it’s simply not done. I paint over mistakes, I add new details... and eventually it turns into something that I’m proud of. Not because it’s the best artistic ability in the world, but because I created it. It doesn’t always turn out EXACTLY like what I envisioned when I first started, because sometimes I discover I like it better than what I originally envisioned.
If your something in your life - health/body/relationships/finances/etc - doesn’t look the way you envision it in your mind... it’s simply because you’re not done. It’s not because you’re a failure or you’re incapable... it’s just because you haven’t developed all of the skills necessary to create it... yet. 🎨
The trick to creating your masterpiece of a life is to keep going. Sometimes it’s ok to step back, and decide what you should do next, but when you gain your perspective... pick up the brush, and keep creating.
My life today looks completely different than it did 5 years ago... Through trial and error I’ve created a masterpiece I’m proud of... not because I’m the best at anything, but I created it. The HUGE mistakes of my past are gone because I decided to “paint” over them, and create something new. I learned from them, but I don’t let them dictate what my masterpiece (my life) looks like today. 🎨
You are the creator of your masterpiece... your life. Make it beautiful. 🖼
Show other people how change will be helpful before expecting them to change.
Slow and steady is when real change takes place. Your circumstances can change in the blink of an eye, but change that happens at a much slower pace is real change.
Even the most motivated people who welcome change often encounter stumbling blocks that make transformation more complicated than they’d originally anticipated.
Whether you’re hoping to lose weight, or you’re starting a business or trying to convince your friends and family to embrace something different remember it takes hard work, consistency and determination and you have all of that.
@vexking beautifully summarises this "it won't change unless you change." Looking forward to continue to share more insights from his amazing book. 👍
The sad reality is, very few people are going to help me on my journey. People believe the homeless did this to themselves. They did, and they didn't. You all have a friend or family member who doesn't work, but through the grace of God they have a roof over their head. They are just as homeless as the people on the streets. Yet you look at them completely different. You don't realize you aren't this way because God is giving you grace to pick yourself back up. Jesus gives us homeless people so you have someone to help. Jesus was homeless. He could be back right now. How did you treat Him? #inspire#JesusChrist#Jesusisreal#liveyourlife
VALUE MY LOVE BECAUSE IT GOES HARD IF YOU’VE EARNED IT. DOES YOURS?
“When speaking of love being warm is thinking about being close or intense. Some people have never experienced or have challenges with receiving intense love. Either in a relationship or friendship it will challenge you. Get ready for a lot of comments asking what’s wrong, opinions and constructive criticism about what you need to do to be happy. Yes, some of the suggestions on your life or others may be totally wrong. Remember that regardless of what society says of minding your own business, when your share this type of love you really want the best for the other.
I believe even when it’s annoying you will surely miss it once it’s gone. Mainly because that means someone had you close to their daily thoughts and heart which is truly rare. This process of loving is a challenging one with no straight line of answers. However, don’t miss out on being loved in this way or to pour yours on someone. After all, what is life without these experiences that makes the journey so much more worth it?”
