Base coats and practice before working towards that INQ28/Blanchitsu hotness. 'Wot I Learned": use parts on a model as micro practice- if something is going to be all red, try avoiding some of the details as practice before painting them. Liquitex flow-aid works well with Citadel paints, but a little goes a really long way (see: Mechanicus Standard Soup). Brushes are like clutches- each one has a personality to it, a particular way each one responds. #orktober#inq28#blanchitsu#paintingwarhammer40k
And I also began the slow process of painting this for the caravan.
In case you were wondering, as it's been a while, I painted and converted a Onager inspired by Tank Girl, and I've been assembling random minis to form a wastes-wandering caravan. This is the third vehicle. Or fifth vehicle, if Kastelans count as vehicles. The two Kastelans and the orbwalker are unfinished, painting-wise. It's hard to be motivated to paint.
I have noted that Black Library's authors have an apparent fondness for using the word "decimate" to describe almost total destruction.
It irritates me enormously and on a wholly instinctual level, as the original meaning of the word comes from the Roman legion punishment of removing 1/10 (deci) of a unit found guilty of some specific transgression. 🤔
So every time I read something like "... The swarms of delivered greenskins swiftly decimated" I think "and so what? There are still 9/10s left" 😁🤔 Ahh I probably just have too much time to speculation ⌚😀 #blacklibrary#decimate
Eisenhorn commission completed. The base will be done by a different person, that's why it isn't done. A pretty difficult piece to paint since he's a lot smaller by GW standards, even my camera, that isn't the best one, has difficulties to focus all the small details that this mini has.
4000 followers! Thanks so much for all the support everybody. I know most of you started following me for miniatures, so here’s an update on the necromundan ash wastes alien ant. I’m going for something that reads clearly as an alien and not a mutated earth ant, but also doesn’t look tyranid. A tricky line when working with so many genestealer parts! I think fur will help... #blanchitsu#necromunda#ashwastes#inq28
Here’s a quick underhive mercenary I finished yesterday. I tried for a finish that’s colorful but still keep the classic grimdark of the underhive. The bit of highlight on the maroon plates I added to keep the technical side interesting. The base was also super fun to work on too, it took me about 20 minutes to produce and the light blue compliment the model well in my opinion.
Artifact Grav vehicle recovered from the Imperial system Covenstead in a lost supply depot, located in the systems Edgeworth belt, following catacomb expeditions recovering several datacores containing leads from Adminstratum archives. Artifact recovered in pristine condition due to long term storage in hard vacuum, the depot having been last used during the The Balefire Crusade (approx. 500.M37). Inquisitorial Edict: Shipping lane activity continues to diminish as scheduled vessels fail to make port at Covenstead. As such, the depots secrecy shall be maintained for use by Inquisitorial forces as a staging area for further expeditions into the Balefire Expanse to ascertain the source of aforementioned raids.
Garnthert Pelver - Middle-Aged Uphive Bounty Hunter.
I imagine the fashions of the early #Necromunda#Bratt gangs would be a bit dated by now, but that's not to say some diehards wouldn't still be rocking them, maybe alongside a 2nd edition Ork plasma gun and a Johnny Mnemonic inspired las-cutter. We salute you, Garnthert. Keep busting out The Sororitas of Mercy and A Flock of Sheenbirds 💀🖤 #40k#Blanchitsu#Necromunda#Miniatures#Inq28#Inquisimunda#Miniatures#Venator
P.S. It might not be much but I'd like to dedicate this work to the memory of Carlos Ezquerra, who played a huge part both directly and indirectly in the creation of the worlds we all love to play in, certainly not least of all classic Necromunda/Confrontation.
Here are some unfiltered, in progress pictures of the latest monster of my creation. I learned a lot and most certainly surprised myself in the progress. Couldn't have done it without the help of @weirdingsway and @dark_tech_ imparting their wisdom and constant encouragement.

I seem to be in this funk at the moment where I keep getting miniatures to an almost finished state and then losing momentum, like the Veteran Command Squad I posted before - has not changed much at all. Here's the latest, the squad leader for my #adeptusministorum Expurgator veterans squad, aka #imperialguard#astramilitarum veterans with shotguns. Somewhat appropriate for the month of Halloween with his slasher horror vibe. Again I don't normally do gore but it seemed weird to have a fanatical berserker within a chainsaw and have him squeaky clean. I also wanted to try putting tattooed scripture on his arms, but I'm not sure if it works? #Imperium#warhammer40k#grimdark#Blanchitsu#gamesworkshop#gamesworkshop40k#40k#inq28#inquisimunda
Anti gravitic vehicle found in the derelict, pre-heresy Imperial cargo hauler The Amenable Fate. Ship appears to have performed emergency warp crash exit, all hands lost. Captain and Navigator logs sealed under Inquisitorial edict. Vehicle 115 found alongside 135 in the ships machine shop, all other equipment seized by Mechanicus Overseer for further study. Vehicle now used for patrolling, recon, liaison, and VIP transport roles in high risk or difficult terrain environments, formerly carried out by the Rhino APC variants.
Needed way to preserve samples for later analysis. Colleagues utilise cryogenic freezing. Inelegant solution. After much painstaking work, produced IX 'Vialmother'. Samples stored in underhanging vials. Biological temperature control and oxygenation via osmosis from host's blood stream. Much neater!
