HOBBY NEWS:: I assume most of you will have seen this little teaser video - of course the interesting thing is WHAT happens when the 80 days countdown ends? New Abaddon mini? A new online tracked campaign for the fate of the planet? A new story line? The rumour engine is sure to be in overdrive until around March 😁👍 #vigilus#blacklegion#willabaddonbecomeabigboy
What do you think? Enough terrain for a 3x3? 😁☺️ feeling pretty pleased with this. it’s five different buildings (with two bridges) so modular enough to get a lot of variety without being overwhelming. .
Also starting to get the itch to put together some #inq28 guys AND I’ve signed up for a 40k tourney if Feb - which is crazy cause I haven’t played 40k in a year and a half (been playing mostly AoS and a little kill team and shade spire). .
Finally wrapped this guy up. There was a line in "Blood and Fire" by Aaron Dembski-Bowden that led to it's backstory: "Given the nature of the war, Armageddon's cities we're fairly thick with warbands of Ordo Xenos agents and their militant ilk..." Wot I Learned: complex looking effects can be achieved by simple application. You will likely have to make everything far more complex first before coming to this realization. Zandri Dust in the Waaagh Flesh will steadily give the skin tones you need and prevent the WoWcraft Ork skin so anathema to #inq28 and #aos28 . Still searching for a way to attach pigment powders that don't mege them into mud-like consistency.
To all the amazing artists, gamers, and creative folks I follow (and that follow me), thanks for a great first month on Instagram! I’ve seen so much cool stuff, gotten so many ideas, and gotten so inspired in a very short time. Thanks!
Primer and base color applied with airbrush. The rest is going to be brushwork. Retinue has also grown with one my favorite GW miniatures ever made (I have two of these!) which will be a testbed for some stuff 🎨 #inq28
The Crusaders of Orm are a warp sensitive species of humanoid older than humanity itself, having been locked in a constant state of war against the forces of Chaos for as long as their written history transcribes.
While they used to number in the billions on their home planet of Orm, the Ormite’s war of attrition against the forces of Chaos was taking its toll after thousands of years, the small tear in the fabric of reality above the skies of Orm that allowed a slow and manageable trickle of demons through opening up for vast hordes of evil invaders.
Realising the true nature of the warp and the reality of this being a war they would soon lose, the noble houses of Orm gathered their most powerful psykers and leaders of industry and formulated a plan.
The latent psychic powers of the species allowed them the option of transferring their sentience into a mechanical host body, bodies that were hardy and battle ready and could withstand battle all solar cycle long. However it came with a cost; this jump could only be made once due to the toll it took on the Ormite mind; their new bodies would be permanent.
The industrial machine of Orm cranked out extremely high volumes of these mechanical bodies, and its citizens transferred their consciousness into their new home.
Once inside these metal tombs their species was doomed for extinction, for they had no way of re-producing, but it was the lesser of two evils; Die as a biological form, or live as something else in the hopes of one day figuring out a solution to their damnation.
The war against the demons over the millennia nearly wiped out the Ormites entirely, until a change in fate fell upon them in late M41, where the shift in the fabrics of reality swallowed Orm and coughed the planet out in the Segmentum Obscurus in the pathway of Inquisitorial Warband Phoebes.
With the two factions sharing such a seething hatred for the forces of Chaos, the Imperium quickly absorbed Orm into its folds; the once war torn planet now situated light years away from any open wound into the warp.
The few remaining Ormites now travel the galaxy with various Imperial Factions such as Rogue Traders and Inquisitors seeking
