Participando do Estúdio ao Vivo na exposição de história em quadrinhos do MIS, muito feliz com o convite! 😊
🇺🇲 Drawing live at MIS (Image and Sound Museum), at the Comics exhibition, thrilled with the invitation!
Laying down the first wash of paint is always exciting. Waiting for it to dry? Not so much.
Now that the nerve-wracking part is over (ie: inking), however, it's wonderful being able to relax and melt into painting! I love this part: contemplating lighting and palette. Normally, I wash a faint background of burnt umber over all my paintings, and I add a small amount of matte medium to act as a sizing agent, sealing my paper so that my washes are even and smooth, and my details precise. I don't like soaky paper. It's why I use hot press instead of cold press. But sometimes, sizing can be uneven or get rubbed off in spots (typically during inking). So I dilute some matte medium into my background wash for the first coat to remedy that.
So I'm still sizing the paper with matte medium diluted in water, but instead of using burnt umber for my background color, I've chosen a mix of yellow ochre py42 and cadmium yellow lemon py37. I think yellow will complement the brown inking, whereas burnt umber (ie: brown) with brown would look a little too ... antique. I want warm colors, but I want them to still be bright and distinct!
And for this palette? I'm thinking cool yellows, warm greens, deep purple and fuscia, and maybe a touch of teal. But the one color that will tie all these paintings together is yellow. Because I'm a yellow freak. :) However, instead of using my favorite Sennelier Lemon Yellow py3 for my cool yellow, I've chosen cadmium yellow this time! They are practically the exact same color, but they reflect light in subtly different ways, and working with them is DRASTICALLY different. The Sennelier us transparent, staining, and best worked in glazes. The cadmium is more opaque and far less staining and lifts easily. But it's softer and mellow. The Sennelier can, at times, feel almost florescent and overpowering. It dominates a palette. The Cadmium complements.
We'll see how this goes!! #palette#watercolor#watercolorprocess#kidlitart#sennelier#holbein#inking#sizing#artistprocess#paintingtheory
Thorsday At Ninjakees #14 - QUALITY VS QUANTITY - Drawing Party Stars & Manga, Anime & Beyond!:
This episode 14 is a little bit different then the other Thorsday At Ninjakees episodes. The intent for these types of episodes was or still is, that they are supposed to be easy and fast to make, having some podcast like content with drawing.
However in this one, edited way more then supposed to, for these kinds of things. Easier to do when i don''t have a guest, but just thought it would be better like this, because there where some silent moments in recording this episode and saw openings for certain parts to edit in.
Just wanted to put more quality in this episode for some reason. I don't know, i am a bit conflicted with the content that i create, wether or not i am going the right direction. This is a bit more edited like some of my other videos, yet not completely.
Yes! Anyways, Sit Back, Relax and Enjoy! (^w^)
•interpretive art•☁️👦 this is NOT my usual style cuz this is for a competition :p but i really wanted to put this on my account anyways -
i drew this mainly because the following is such an important message to me !! i always find people around me (and myself) stressing out so so much because of school and other people they compare themselves to, etc. but one of the most important things one can know is that school does NOT define who you are and that your happiness should not be deprived by others, or competition, or grades, or societal pressures. do whatever makes YOU happy and trust me, you will succeed. although there may be naysayers, if you have a strong passion or fire inside you, you are destined to accomplish about anything you desire. so create your own path (it’s totally possible) and set sail! but. if you are still lost (like me :,)) you will find what you were meant for, sooner or later. you just can’t see it yet, but you have no idea what is waiting for you. be you, do your thing, and do not let anything or anyone take away your creativity or ideas! -
