Impatient to start my artist residency at the Kalaupapa National park, the site of the historic leprosy settlement where thousands of people affected by Hansen’s disease were essentially imprisoned for the good part of the 20th century. Looking forward to telling visual stories about the history of the settlement and the restoration and preservation efforts by the park’s staff and volunteers. Thank you Paul Hosten for your help in bringing this project to life. #visualreportage#hawaii#nationalhistoriclandmark#nationalpark#inkandwatercolor
I love the combination of ink and watercolors. I also find whales amazing creatures. So I did some illustrations in a whimsical and colorful style. "Animals on visit" is a collection on my http://society6.com/Doggyshop where animals that are not dogs are showcased. And that is a fine place to let you have the opportunity to buy some of my other animal-illustrations I think. This image shows a Wood Wall decoration. Quite nice isn't it <3 #whales#illustration#inkandwatercolor#society6artist
Practicing my on-location sketching techniques using photos donated to the Facebook group Photos for Artists. I imagine myself in these places, maybe seeing them for the first time, with limited time to sketch. Sedona 📷: Cindy Nowatny, Ireland 📷: Lauren Smith.
