Metal Rose 🥀 ⛓ I’ve always gravitated towards half edgy, half organic beauty - which is why it’s so fun to create pieces that combine these 2 elements of hard edged lines and soft natural curves. Bringing different elements together represents, to me, the different layers to every one of us! ❤️ This baby does just that- curved romantic lines met with industrial elements 🥀 ⛓ A favorite unique piece of mine! About 40% business and 70% pleasure brings me back to N.Y. this week. Hey that math doesn't add up!😁 I was last here in N.Y. exactly this week 2 years ago to connect with a friend from overseas and I planted down at this 4🌟hotel. Get ready for a sneak peak of interior design crack and architectural lust.
The order of operations: I pick my hotels by interior design first, rooftop bar second, and spa services/fitness centers third.
In 2016, this centerfold of a hotel was part of the Gansevoort family. Now after a mega deal with Highgate in October 2017, I'm welcomed back to the Royalton on Park Ave. Same decadence. Same flair. Same swankiness. Different name. This is absolutely one of my favorite things to do - stay in a swanky hotel in the heart of an upbeat urban environment.
The inspiration for my own living space comes from the French interior design legend Philippe Starck. I used The Bazaar in Beverly Hills' SLS Hotel (Starck has a footprint here) and Sofitel in Chicago as a catalyst back in 2010.
Yes, Starck has a footprint here at the Royalton in Manhattan and around the world. If you've ever stayed at The Viceroy in Miami-Starck. Sipped a cocktail with your significant other at The Viceroy in Santa Monica-Starck. My palette now can tell as soon as I walk into a hotel lobby whether Mr. Starck has been here. As I get reacquainted with my digs till later this week, I pat myself on the back. I completed my living room design ca. 2011. Surprisingly, here at the Royalton, I see strikingly similar comparisons. I swear I didn't cheat! I use black tuxedo chandeliers, he uses purple ones. I use purple accents. He uses red. By no means am I in his league, but I know enough to be design-dangerous. If you've ever joined me in my living room as I play mixologist for my beloved guests and cocktail party patrons, then you can vouch for my comparative analysis.
The rooftop here is on my Top 5. Yes, I'm drinking a Manhattan in Manhattan. I can't get the black n white hologram of Frankie Baby out of my head. All I need is a cigar cause I don't smoke and Sammy Davis, Jr. to offer me a light.
Before and after pics of a bathroom remodel for @mavensmarket. Just need to finish off the corners with some angle iron trim and it will be ready for all of the plumbing fixtures. #bathroomdecor#bathroom#steelwalls
propriamente voluto l'accostamento di queste due lampade "grifo" di Artemide anno 1987, con questa #cassa industriale da trasporto, presumibilmente per #caffè ,
proveniente dal porto di Guayaquil,
oceano Pacifico... principale porto marittimo dell'Ecuador.
Bella la lavorazione a coda di rondine dei lati, sui quali è ancora presente un fondo #grigio#perla .
in risalto la scritta anteriore della cittadina ed il numero della zona portuale sul coperchio.
Misura 100 cm in larghezza, 67 in profondità e 69 cm in altezza... Segni d'uso,di trasporto e qualche inevitabile mancanza lignea,
ma charme da vendere in questo insolito e curioso oggetto.
