‘To be a champion, I think you have to see the big picture. It's not about winning and losing; it's about every day hard work and about thriving on a challenge. It's about embracing the pain that you'll experience at the end of a race and not being afraid. I think people think too hard and get afraid of a certain challenge.’ Summer Sanders
I love climbing, it’s a sport if find challenging, difficult some days, easy others, scary, and always a confidence boost. Today I start back in the gym winter climbing after a few injuries and the rewards were still the same.
Shout out to @mlaihoto & @kan_of_soup for belaying and cheering me on to complete this route that I'd been projecting for months!

First visit to @projectrockclimbing last night and I had a great time. I’m enjoying top-rope climbing the most but bouldering is more of a challenge for me. So I appreciate it a little more when I finish a route that’s (cake for the friends I’m climbing with but,) pretty tough for me. ⠀
I’m working on V0-V1 routes (level 1 for bouldering) and yesterday I couldn’t get to the final pink sloper in the third photo before falling. A few timesss. *sigh* But “success isn’t final, failure isn’t fatal.” Gotta try it again. ⠀
& Pictured in the last photo (not my pic tho) I completed that same orange route the climber is on, a 5.7 (more 🎂) which was an achievement in itself, even though I’ve played on some 5.8/9’s, because mentally overcoming my fear of heights has come in increments. There’s always some place higher... and physically there was an overhang— a weak point for me. So the crux was definitely at that break, getting from the stalagmite to the stalactite. But I finished! 60 ft up. Overhang and all. And it felt awesome. + there was a bomb ass playlist to keep you in the right mooood 🤘🏻 Such a cool route, place & I’m in love with the real-rock features! ⠀
