The Desert Rose crystal, our namesake, found in the deserts of Southern Africa. The rose is a symbol of the Pistos Sophia, Greek for feminine wisdom. When composing, I always draw from the feminine healing energy.
As I began writing the music for our Rain chant for the US tour this evening, clouds gathered and gentle rain began to fall. The drought in Cape Town has finally broken over the last few weeks. Using the ancient instruments of the Bushmen, the first people of our nation and our world.
RECLAIMED is on a future wave tonight with @culturite 💫Indigenous music from across the globe: SUNDAY 8-9pm on @cbcradio One 🎧 🌏 Full playlist posted this evening.

"In 1973 Native American/Mexican band Redbone released the politically oriented “We Were All Wounded At Wounded Knee”, recalling the massacre of a band of Sioux Indians by the Seventh Cavalry in 1890. Wounded Knee reached the number one position in many places in Europe. In the US the song didn’t chart at all. Redbone’s record company did not allow them to record or release the song in the US but they recorded it with their own money, made 500 copies and spread them around Europe leading it to be a hit single."
Had way too much fun this weekend in 315. Giant thank you to my soul sister @rhondavhead for inviting me to be a part of the OID festivities. 💜💜💜 Thank you to my big sister @josiemcivor for being my date! I lucked out and got to join @vincefontainewpg onstage to sing @eagleandhawkrocks song “Sundancer.” Until next time my friends..... #indigenousmusic#indigenous#countrymusic#sundancer#singer#songwriter

The near-extinct Kadedek is seen here in the masterful hands of Kalimantanese composer Nursalim Yadi Anugerah.
On the brink of extinction, the conservation of the Bornean mouth organ is now facing a Renaissance—Bornean groups are working towards restoring its place as one of the Island’s signature organic sounds.
