I guess all of this is to say the current model of consumption is pretty broken. Recycling is a nice word we say to ourselves, but in reality it’s just another market. When the incentives aren’t there, it doesn’t happen.
These are a fraction of the contents of one bag of plastic. Feels to me that disposable coffee cups already have plenty of viable alternatives. Here’s an attempt to magnify the problem.
The past few posts have been an exercise in me being stressed about the pointlessness of art. Social messages are one way out, but there’s a whole separate host of complications I’ve just started exploring. Either way, this won’t be the last time.
throughout my life, my love of photography has transcend its necessity from just a hobby to a life longing passion. to showcase the unnoticed, the abandoned, the underdogs, the forgotten ones, is honestly one of the best things i feel like i could do. when this world is more focused on the superficial beauty of one's appearance, i wanna focus more on what known as the ugly side of the world and show that even what you call ugly, ordinary and unappealing can be beautiful as well. for me, those unappealing traits are what makes them so special. knowing that their appearance isn't their only strength they can rely on and that there's so much more of them than just appearance. what's the most appealing is their stories.
for my participation in @taintedmag contest, i'd love to win so that i'd have more media and utilities to showcase the world in a more unique perspective and make people notice that there's so much more than just what's the society shown as the definition of beauty. -with love, arthur xo
