I have never seen any place come alive this magically.
The Floating Vegetable Market of Srinagar is a place where Kashmiris living within the lake buy their daily fruit and vegetable supplies. Of course, the lake is famous already for it's houseboats, but the floating market is essential for life to function within the lake.
This daily floating market is sort of a wholesale market where small and big shopkeepers (floating boat-shops) buy vegetables from vegetable growers and then go off in their boats to houseboats and other small villages within the lake and sell these to them. Apparently most of these are grown within and around Dal itself.
Tip: Take the ride from Nigeen lake, it goes via super scenic lotus and lilly garden before you reach the market and it is a soul soothing experience.

See those shiny silver circles on some of the leaves? Those are coins. Found out yesterday that visitors often throw coins inside the lake and wish something. 😂
Can't imagine how this started out. The organization put a board for a while dissuading this activity. But seems it hasn't worked much. 🤭

Okay we promise this is our last camel photo for a little while, but look at that face! Jaisalmer was one of those places that will stay in our memories for a long time, we met some truly amazing people there.
Have you ever travelled somewhere that has been made 100% better because of the people you met there?
