So when I first started this online fitness program, it was solely because trying to make it to the gym was stressing me to the max. Then I would end in a cycle of self hate due to not going or not going as much as I thought I should.
Now I walk into my living room, turn on my TV and do my 20-45 min workout depending on which program I am doing. Yes, which program. Because there are over 700 workouts to choose from. 😱. It’s that simple.
But now this program has become so much more than just my workout routine. I have found a group of women who encourage, love on, pray for and hold each other accountable. It is an amazing thing to see. It really shows me how health is so much more than just fitness. You need health not only in your physical life but also emotionally, mentally and most importantly spiritually. And I love how we focus on all of those things within our team.
Also, I may not have a huge team underneath me , but it is such a joy to have the ones who do view me as their “coach” to trust me in helping them reach a goal. It is such a honor and to hear the success stories bring me so much happiness. And not even weight loss, but stories of how they are sleeping better, have more energy, can play longer with their children, are viewing food differently , etc. I love it and I am so happy I get the opportunity to help encourage them along this journey.
So here’s to do my second workout of the day because yes I am behind. And yes I ate a lot of food at our Christmas family parties this weekend. But I’m okay. I’m just going to get it done, catch up and tomorrow is a new day. Let’s do this. Also hubby is joining me on this one so yay!
I would love to talk to you about your journey. Send me a message or fill out the link in my bio.
Manipulatives! Go Economic Card Game. Students had a great time deciding which economic system matched each scenario. They even asked could they come back and play during lunch time! #learningcanbefun#imodify#teachermodsquad
#hammerandchisel Day 3/56: ISO Chisel Strength
Omgoodness, you guys. My back muscles are so sore!! It’s not like I haven’t worked my back in the past months, but whatever new moves I’ve been doing have made my muscles wake up back there. And let’s not forget my booty and hamstrings. 😬 I think it’s not going to be any better tomorrow. 🤣 Each move was three sets of 10 with a ten second hold, no rest. My butt was seriously on fire with those split squats (not shown here, but in my stories). Not exactly my most favorite thing in the world. 🤣🤣 Tomorrow is a scheduled rest day, but I’m pushing the calendar all left and will push my rest day to Sunday. So, tomorrow will be Hammer Speed, only 25 minutes long. Maybe I’ll dance, too. 🤷🏻♀️. We shall see!
#hammerandchisel 2/56: Hammer Plyo
Today was a short workout, but it was packed with 30 second balls to the walls moves. I had forgotten just how hard Hammer Plyo was. It’s all coming back to me now, though! 🤣
I shared a few modifications I did today in my stories. Check them out if you’re interested. Two of them are shared here. 😊
Hammer & Chisel 1/56: Chisel Balance
Well, here we go. Round 3 of H&C began today. And, it’s just as difficult as I remember. 🤪. I probably would have modified even if I had gone to the “dungeon” and had the bench at my disposal. 😬 I shared some of my modifications in my stories if you’re curious to see what I did without a bench. I’ll continue to share my modifications as I go along if that’s something that interests you. 😊
OMG!!😯😯😁😁 When you stop and see that not just anyone liked my post but the modifier of ShaunWeek Julie Voris herself!! I modify the heck out of my workouts sometimes but I never give up!
I love watching the modifier in the workouts.
She sweats just as much as everyone else does.
She never quit
She never gave up
She never did it was too hard
Or she can't finish
She keeps going!
When we get tired we just learn to rest.
Never give up on yourself
You may say it's too hard.
When we don't challenge ouraelves, we will never change us.

I hadn't intended on doing a new photo today for #transformationtuesday . But when I happened to grab this striped tank top and remembered it was the one from my 'day one' picture, I thought ...well, let's just see.
Can I just say...I absolutely love my smile in today's picture! 😁 And, it's kind of neat that the person in the day one picture had no idea what changes were coming her way!
Remembering that day, I was scared as hell about having to workout the next morning and really angry with myself for getting so out of control. Little did I know I would be going from 'challenger' to 'coach' and making a business of something that fills my heart, earns me an income for the 'fun stuff' and has brought me incredible friendships.
Life is funny that way eh, when some of your darkest days are actually the first step in an awesome journey!! #coachlife#ificanyoucan#nevertoolate#dontdoubtyourself
Week 7 is DONE!!
Total Body HIIT is HARD!!
But we did it!!
4 workouts stand between us and completing this program!
Gordon Scott and I haven’t worked out together in such a long time!
Yes, you’re seeing this correctly.
Gordon and I BOTH are 4 workouts away from finishing a program.
Doing things for our health.
No longer chasing skinny.
No longer chasing numbers.
Doing this together.
I’m a teacher.
Gordon is a dump truck driver who works 15+ hour days sometimes.
We’re both up every day before most people even want to think about rolling out of bed.
He works out after work because he doesn’t like mornings.
I workout in the morning because I won’t do it after school.
Being busy and not having time are excuses that aren’t benefitting you.
This program is designed for busy people.
I’m starting another round on October 1, and I would love for you to join me!
Oh man... I can’t wait to share our results with you guys!!
If you’ve watched my journey through this whole program, you need to join me!
Your time is now! #healthytogether#strongnotskinny 💪 #gettingfittogether#progressoverperfection#imodify#obesetofit#plussizefamily#sweatylife#healthiestyearofmylife#hiitisnojoke#cardioishardio#marriedup#marriedaf#busypeople
Ready for Open House tonight! Parents will have 8 minutes to see the awesomeness of my classroom and experience what their students do each week. What better way than to allow them to do a quick station rotation. Happy Thursday! #teachermodsquad#imodify
In talking with people about exercising, some responses are "I can't do what you are doing." Guess what? Sometimes, I can't do what the instructor wants me to do either. I do what the modifier does. This exercise is supposed to be running lunges but because of fluid in my knee, I can't do the running part. I modify to what I can do and still get the workout in.
Don't let the excuses get in the way, you are more than your excuses!!! Be stronger than your excuses and kick them to the curb!! Every workout program has a person who modifies the exercises for you, so anyone can do the exercises. Can't hold 5 or 3 lb weights, no problem, your arms have weight to them!!! Let's do this, let's modify, not modify and get exercising for a healthier you!!! Message me for details!! #imodify#youcandoanythingyouputyourmindto#yesyoucanmodify#itsoktomodify#getexercising#getmoving#youarestrongerthanyourexcuses#kicktheexcusestothecurb
Scaling is NOT a bad thing: ever since my knee surgery I am very aware of my knees and the amount of volume I put into squatting. The box squat is my staple to keep the hips moving and removing the pressure from my quads and there for removing the pressure from my knees (NOTE: a box squat is NOT a squat to a box, it is a wide stance squat with a deload / reload at the bottom) #Iscale#imodify#kneesurgery#boxsquat#traintotrainanotherday#westsidebarbell#conjugatenation
Don’t be fooled by my pictures of weights and resistance loops..I modify!
I modify my workouts every day. 80% of my workout is modified and best of all I don’t have to think of ways of how to do it, it’s shown to me.
I’ve had two back surgeries, I’ve broken both ankles, I’ve had knee surgery, I have flat feet and its been almost six months since having my third c-section.
I can no longer jump or run. Core work is hard, really hard for me. Lunges and squats can put a lot of pressure on my body.
But if I don’t workout, I’m in pain. I’m in so much pain that some days it’s hard to get up off the floor, out of the bed, to stand straight.
So I modify. I push myself when I can, and lay off when I should. Don’t think you can’t workout because you’re body has failed you, you are too old, you don’t have the range of motion..there is always something you can do and I promise you it will make you feel better. #dontstopmoving#imodify#fitmama#motivationmonday
GUYS!! My amazing, beautiful, powerful sister just had a mind blowing epiphany!! Do you ever start a workout program and think "oh sure. Put the heaviest person on screen as the modifier. Cuz they can't handle the "real workout" just like me"
Shaun T put Tonya as his modifier in T-25!
Jen looked at me today and said "ya know what? Modifying isn't a bad thing. I can do this!" SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE ONES IN THE BACK!! Just because you modify doesn't mean your not working out! If you show up, press play and give it your all! You. Are. Doing. The. Real. Workout.
My heart is so full right now!!😍😍😍😍 #fitnessmotivation#mysister#imodify
I imagined what it would be like to not workout at PRT for a hot minute and I was sad. Come see why!! I’m going to be going at all hours over summer so if any of my friends want to try it and go together I can make it work!! #addicted#hurryonly15spotsatTHISprice#iMODIFY#Repost @potentialrealizedtraining with @get_repost
PRTers, we all have family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc who we know would be a great fit at PRT! Well now is the time to get them in here and let them see what the awesome is all about.

*first time members only
*6 weeks includes 1st week free
@sportymum_b I did It!!
Cardio challenge from insanity max 30. Tried to sneak it in without waking anyone by doing it in my bedroom.... that didn't work 🤣 by the time I finished I had 2 kids and a dog in there
Had to super modify as my back was feeling a bit tender so avoided planks and took out any impact. Feels good to be back with Shaun T
That is me. Me doing a modified move. You can still achieve results with a modifier. While shopping yesterday I grabbed a pair of jeans to try on thinking yeah right. These are 2 sizes smaller then my current jeans they won’t fit. But I tried them on. Guess what? They fit! I bought those jeans! Even though I modify moves. So don’t tell modifying moves doesn’t give results. Don’t tell me at home workouts don’t give results. Be the best you can be. Push the hardest you can push. And don’t give up. One day you will look back and say holy crap I can do this new without modifying! 💖💪🏻
Today day 71/80 - Leg Day and although my legs feel like jello I had to smile.
I 😀 because of the endorphin rush.
I 😁 because finishing it gives me that accomplished feeling.
I 😃 because I know that no matter what the scale says I am getting stronger.
I 😆 knowing I’m blessed to have the physical ability to workout.
What made you smile today ?

FUEL YOUR BODY RIGHT!
The thing most people (including myself) don’t get is you have to give yourself the right fuel. They believe they either have to starve themselves or that there is some miracle shake, pill or wrap will turn them into their dream body overnight.
It’s about the right amount of calories and WHERE you get your calories from. Just because the ONE and ONLY meal you ate today was 390 calorie McDonald’s McDouble, a 100 calorie bag of chips and a diet coke doesn’t mean you are going to lose the RIGHT weight. Sure fewer calories does cause a deficit in calories but there is VERY LITTLE nutrients that will repair your body and retain/build muscle.
Remember gouging your eyes out will make you lose weight but is that worth it to see a number on the scale?!? I have learned to eat to fuel my body not just to make it through a workout but to deal with LIFE today, tomorrow and years to come. Part of that fueling is in the form of my daily shake. I drink that one meal not for weight loss, not for the protein but because it is the quickest easiest way to get the nutrition I need. It is a supplement. Supplements are important but they are just that SUPPLEMENTS to you eating REAL WHOLE food.
I ALMOST didn’t do it...👀
I had ALL the excuses...👀🤷🏼♀️
They STARTED when my alarm ⏰went off this morning...😏
“My throat is sore & scrathy” 🙄
“My nose 👃🏻 is stuffy” 🤧
(Those two things were NOT true when I went to bed 😠)
“I woke up late” 👀
(Because I did NOT get up with my alarm ⏰)
“My back HURTS...it’s super stiff”
“I don’t have time”
“I have to work late”
“I’m getting home late”
“I’m not feeling it”
You NAME it.
I had them ALL 🙄
So even though my head wasn’t ALL THE WAY in the game 😏🤷🏼♀️ At 8 o’clock tonight I PUSHED PLAY ANYWAY! 💪🏻
I slowed it down.
I focused on the movements.
I focused on the muscles.
I focused on my CORE engaging.
And even though it was my FULL OUT EFFORT- it was just what my body (& brain 🧠) needed to snap me or of this FUNK and prepare for a NEW DAY tomorrow! 😊🙌🏻 .
Throwback Thursday 😜
The top video was on DAY THREE of the program I am testing 😊
I remember cursing in my head doing those core moves because they were HARD & CHALLENGING. 😬 BUT I modified and finished! 💪🏻
The bottom video was from yesterday- three weeks later, workout number 24 of the program I’m testing 😉
And yesterday I felt STRONG 💪🏻 more coordinated! Don’t get me wrong...the moves are still HARD 😳 but I can feel the progress that has been made! 😍
This is how DAY ONE ended 👀
15 Tricep push-ups. .
This was at the end of a ONE HOUR total body strength workout (that had major emphasis on the core & arms) 👀😳
THREE YEARS AGO I couldn’t do a SINGLE tricep push-up from my KNEES. 👀👀
And here I am not only doing 15, but SEVEN of which were on my toes before dropping to my knees! 😜💪🏻
There is NO SHAME in modifying exercise moves to ENSURE that you are using proper form and technique! 😉😊
(Also I do take note 📝 that I need to focus on keeping my elbows in by my body there near the end...😉)
Working on my puddle💦 jumps and triple 🐍 in my new 👟! I rarely workout in just my sports bra. Too much jiggle and even alone it makes me self conscious. When I looked back at this picture to brag about the shoes Santa brought me (which feel like walking on clouds, btw) I thought about how hard I've been on myself lately. This year was filled with a lot of obstacles- stress of studying for my exam, heart palpitations with shortness of breath and all those trips to the doctor, and then my shoulder injury to finish off the year.
I haven't been able to work my body this year the way that I have been in the past. And maybe that was meant to be. Maybe I needed to give my body a little break. But in that time, regardless of how busy, stressed, tired, or even hurt I was - I never stopped working! I worked around it. Maybe a little less intense. Maybe a lot less intense sometimes. But I still worked. And I still paid attention to what I ate.
Seeing this I can see I'm not as lean or tight as I was this time last year but I have to cut myself some slack! I have a great foundation to build on for 2018 which is going to be my healthiest year yet! And, this is a reminder to me that just because things aren't ideal or as perfect as we plan them doesn't mean you give up on it totally. Where I am today is better than I was four years ago and is still better than where I would be if I had thrown my hands up and walked away.
It's not always the most convenient lifestyle but it's worth it.
I can't wait to see what my next calendar of challenges does with this foundation.
