Taken about 3 weeks post show.
May 28th. Show date May 5th.
It was at this point, I removed the bathroom scale and the food scale.
My 10 year old daughter watching every move I make.
During prep, I made it clear to her that my habits were for an athletic goal.
Reminding her that our value comes from our character, our heart, our mind and our soul. To appreciate our body for what it can do, not solely for how it looks.
Some habits took awhile to disappear.
For instance, my daily sunflower butter intake on rice cakes. Now gone.
Some habits remain.
Like, chopping up strawberries for my breakfast. Just last week.
And those are the diet habits.
Other psychological and physical habits ebbed and flowed as I sorted out my new life rhythm.
Taken 7 months post show to the day, December 5th.
Daughter is 11 years old now.
Still watching. Still observing my fierce commitment to beast mode workouts and long runs. Reminding her that I'm doing what I love. I can only hope though, my conscious intention of putting family and God first, speaks louder than any words I can say to her. Aware that my choices and decisions are a living example. Yes, we take care of our physical bodies but more importantly we take care of each other, our hearts, our mind and most importantly our spirit.
This one bikini selfie pose will probably stay with me for life.

I like running in cool weather, but it takes forever for my muscles to warm up. Tonight I didn’t feel really loose until the last mile!
The neighborhood I run in was lighting luminaries for some reason. 🕯🕯I didn’t want to stop to ask why, but it sure made for a pretty run!
Today I locked in my spot at our teams leadership retreat in 2019! I went to my first one in Folly Beach this year and have qualified to head to our 2019 retreat in Colorado.
To qualify you had to continue to grow your team (help new ladies every month) and advance your business to the next rank of our company.
No doubt a lot of work goes into this. I put in a few hours every day and it adds up over time.
I love coaching, this job, the endless opportunities, and getting to meet and mastermind along side SO many ladies like myself. Can’t wait to meet and grow with several new ones this April!
Let the countdown begin! 😍👯♀️⛰ #coloradobound#happygirlsaretheprettiest
"Beyond the very extreme of fatigue and distress,
We find amounts of ease and power we never dreamed ourselves to own,
Sources of strength never taxed at all because we never push through the obstruction."
Born to Run
Remembering this race.
No running watch.
No dry fabric clothes.
A heart that loved to run.
A mind that believed.
And a spirit that connected
With purpose, destiny, & meaning
Ok, so instead of starting with all these new good habits in the new year... start now! So you can already start planting the seeds now, and develop those new habits. That will make you ready for the new year and more likely to keep to those New Years resolutions. For me, I want to get in shape and run a half marathon under 2 hrs again. So my first 2.5 miles after my half last month are done! .
Ok well here's the skinny on the the Santa Claus Half Marathon! It was fun in a nutshell. The course was relatively flat. Only a portion of it was actually trail.
It was a very scenic route and you got to see the medieval portions of Torun, a great river side view and a lot of the newly renovated cityscape. The trail portion reminds me of the running trails back home in Tn without janormous roots protruding from the ground to make you slip, trip, or fall.
But as with any race you run for any distance they will never be what you EXPECT. Here's what I didnt expect.
1. I could not locate the toi toi at the start line
2. No water stops or toi tois along the route until the 7thish 8thish kilometer marker.
3. 2 water stops back to back at the 7th(8th) and 8th(9th) kilometers points
Where are the nutritional points on individual routes?
NOPE NOT EVEN CLOSE!
4. No finish photo of me. CRAIGHAS PICTURES BUT NOT ME!( Craig and I crossed togetherish)
5. The Metal to be that big or that heavy. It's a frigging Santa Hat Bell(uber cool)
6. The weather to be kind and nice to us.(it rained a little but stopped shortly after the start. It could have been snowing.
It was a really nice race and I dont have a whole lot to say bad about it. I loved everything about it from the packet pickup to the after race meal. IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD HAPPILY SAY YES AND TROT RIGHT ALONG!
CHECK OUT SOME OF MY PICS!
🏃🏼♀️: I’m getting back into the swing of things now that I’m feeling 💯. I decided to try out a morning run down in Irving close to work to see if I liked it and thought I could make it part of my routine, rather than have to wait until after work (woes of living 30 miles outside of Dallas and commuting through heavy traffic every day! 😒🚗🚙). It worked out pretty good so thinking it might just stick! May just become a morning person after all?! (Still open for debate).😴
There was a lovely frost on the ground, the sunrise was gorgeous, and the trail was completely empty! I enjoy solitary runs because it gives me time to think and center myself. Anyone else enjoy those kinds of runs?
Is there anything more satisfying than seeing progress happen? 🤔I by all means am not working on speed yet, but the last few runs I’ve started to notice I’m feeling less worn out and just stronger overall. I think I’m ready to start speed work, but I’m still holding off. I didn’t look at my watch today except to see when to turn around and just ran how I wanted to, and really picked it up the last mile for fun. It’s been so long! I was surprised to see negative splits. Always a welcome surprise! 🤓Throwing in a few faster miles every now and then to remind my body of where I’m going might not be a bad idea now that I’ve been running continuously pain free for a while 😊 (I lost count of the weeks!). I’m listening to my body more than ever now, and today I felt stronger than I have in a long time! I added my @garminfitness watch splits to my stories...broke out of the 10’s today and it felt goooood! #babysteps
Shoutout to @gazellegirlmichigan for keeping my head warm today! Love the NB beanie from the cyber Monday registration deal! 💗
6 miles by Lake Michigan with the sunshine peaking out! ✅
#medalmonday Because I’m still so over the moon with yesterday’s race! Earlier this morning I was remembering that one of my goals for 2018 was to complete my first Half Marathon. Well... that was a mission accomplished. And oh! It was worth every second of it!
