The #summer is slipping away, I’m nostalgic already! 😞 I’m not letting go yet! This was an ensemble I completed this past July. I posted the #sketch for it but I never posted the actual thing. 🤷🏽♀️
So, the little T-shirt underneath was a light knit, it was okay to sew. The 2-piece set is a lightweight unknown blend, polyester like. The only downside to this groovy outfit? It wrinkles ”for your life!!!!” (In my Rupaul voice) 🤦🏽♀️ It irons easy but as soon as you put it on, forget it... 🙄. However, for $2 a yard at #walmart , I ain’t mad! 🤑
It’s comfy, and has a 70s vibe to it I couldn’t resist! Let me know what you think.... 🧐
And oh yea, hi 👋🏽, I’m Golden... I made myself two plain gray tees within one week. 🎉
(Sure, they’re maybe not the most exciting projects in the whole world, but I WILL wear them all. the. time.) I hardly ever sew solid-colored basics for myself, but I’m thinking I’ll probably start doing it far more often.
Which one is your fave??

Day 24 of #greatbritishquilter - Favourite mini make with @sarahashfordstudio and @verykerryberry - I love this little #cottonandsteel drawstring pouch I quilted. Swipe to see the back and lining. Aren’t these squares cute?
Today @itchtostitch has released this #musthave pattern! Everybody needs an Aveiro cardigan! I sewed it in black and I got a classic look but the other testers sewed more awesome versions that you should take the time and check in her website. It comes in four bodice lengths and four sleeve lengths, so that gives you a total of 16 combinations and now, this pattern is 20% off for one week!!!. COULD THIS BE LOVE?
There is a fine line between interest and obsession and I think with sewing I'm on the cusp of obsession! Staying up late to read pattern reviews, fabric 101 videos and anything else my clicks lead me to. . .
This morning before work I managed to steal 5 minutes here and 10 minutes there to do some pining of a waistband. It doesn't matter where I am in my day my mind takes me back to sewing. It reminds me a lot like falling in love and fallen in love I have.
My York top pattern is assembled and cut, but I'm going to pause this project 'till I go to my class on Tuesday. I'm fearful of messing it up and I REALLY like my fabric, so having some guidance from the get-go would be sensible.
That doesn't mean I wont be doing any sewing till then - oh no siree. A couple of weeks ago I found a heavy-ish cotton print that I had decided right then and there I needed and even had a project in mind for it. I of course bought it, but have since discovered I didn't buy enough for planned project so my whimsical side has taken over and has decided to use it as a technique practicing fabric - pleats, zips and waistbands are on my mind - i'm going to have fun with it and see where it takes me. 😁😍✂️
Somewhere around this day last year i bought my adjustable dressform 🤗 After using it for whole year, I think it's time to give a review on how I am liking it: //1// It took me two weeks to get used to it - I would get MAJOR scare everytime I would see its body-shaped shadow in the middle of living room at night 🤣🤣
//2// My back fitting became so much easier - it's my most problematic spot to fit, but now I can perfectly fit it on the mannequin. I would say my fitting became better in general, because now I can solve many fitting issues directly on the form 💃
//3// Those adjustable wheel are good to one-time setting, not so much for often switching - might be because I chose the economy form, but after using it one year, the rotating wheels often stuck and I don't even turn them that often 🙄 //4// Adjustable form is definitely less sturdy than non-adjustable one, which makes tiny issues sometimes, for example, if I want to iron or pin directly onto the form and it doesn't hold that well.
//5// Because of the adjustable wheels, I can recreate my shape almost identically, which is the main reason I got adjustable form - LOVE this function ❤️💕
📖 Summarizing 📖 Though stucking wheels and lack of sturdiness makes me wonder how long I will use it, I still love my dressform after a one year - recreates my shape ideally and helps in many fitting cases. Oh, and did I mentioned it looks super pretty? 🤗🤗🤗
