Mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms everywhere! This fall was quite a warm and wet season. All around the yard and woods next to the house we were finding these guys all over the place the past two months. Now that the temps have consistently dropped below freezing we won't be seeing these guys around anymore but do look forward to thier return come spring.
Woolly Bear Catapillars are presumed to predict forthcoming winters. The more black bands you see on their bodies the harsher the winter we are suppose to get. We had number of these fuzzy little guys in our yard a few weeks ago. Let's see if thier prediction is right! Either way it will be cool to see them turn into Isabella tiger moths flying around come spring!
