So turns out I’m quite bad at posting...my current excuse is that there are piles of ‘stuff’ all over my house. I need to get my act together but for now, here’s the living room pile of stuff and house warming present from the best boss ever. Also I’m a bottle of wine down so today is a good day. Well, friends. Crushing goals over here - I FILLED THE FRAMES!! (April 2017 goals, that is. APRIL 2017. 2017!! Let me remind you that we are currently in the middle of 2018. #reallife y'all) But I finally crossed it off my "to-do" list...on a Monday, no less. If you find it hard to get your own pics in your frames, I've shared below about where I tend to get held up in this process, and what I did to help me GET 'ER DONE. And if you're totally fine just hanging them up and pretending the stock photo is your extended family members- I kind of love that so keep going with it. .
Choosing the pictures is where I tend to get stuck - for lots of reasons. But anyway We have 4 of these square frames in our family room and I decided to make those 4 a "collection" of sorts. It felt like the natural thing to do since they are all on the same wall and I wanted them to be cohesive. It also helped me to narrow down my choices based on the "theme" of the "collection" and wanting to keep them somewhat visually symmetrical. Anyway- the theme is "everyday". It is basically a collection of little "everyday" moments (like these two- grocery shopping and then our pineapple that we ate while running through the sprinkler, for instance). Since all 4 frames are the same I opted for symmetry here and so the other two follow a similar visual (scale/ color:negative space ratio). There's a big window to the right of this shot and then two more frames. The two frames not pictured: the first is a shot of our girl at a local restaurant and the second one is a close up of sweet little kiddo hands playing with some tiny China dishes for a tea party on a white table ( lots of negative space like the pineapple). Summary of my long winded stream of consciousness- Mini captures of everyday life following a visually symmetrical layout = my mini "everyday" collection. Hope this could be helpful for someone finding themselves stuck in the "yeah but what pictures?" phase.
