So I realized after I drank my #joltjuice ⚡️⚡️that today was supposed to be yoga day 😂 - oops! So I switched it up & did shoulders instead (I just couldn’t do a calming yoga 🧘🏽♀️ sesh with all energy I needed to get out) 😜
And that’s saying something because historically, shoulders are my LEAST fav thing to work because they’ve always been my weakest muscle group due to an old nursing 💉injury. 🙄 I’ve made LEAPS & BOUNDS of progress but over a long period of time starting very light weights & progressing to where I am now. I still may not be lifting as heavy as others & that’s totally okay! We are only competing with ourselves, so our goal should be to be better than we were yesterday. 👊🏼

I woke up this morning thinking....these are the moments I will cherish!
Not because I can have breakfast alone but because I'm thankful that my baby girl sleeps in until 8ish right now!😆 I am not a morning person! Really, I just hate waking up early, always have. Today is my one day I wake up early for work and I always dread it. This morning I hit snooze for about 10 minutes ( seriously that's an improvement), took my shower, prepped my breakfast and thought....I am so glad I do not have to do this everyday right now!
Being able to stay home has been hard and it has had it's challenges but it has been so memorable at the same time! Looking back, I do not think I would change my/our decision to have me stay home instead of working full time!
But for the moment, I will cherish these sleeping in days because I'm sure they won't last forever! 😴
Seriously, this Monday can go places and do rude things to itself. I’ve been up an hour and a bit, and zero things have worked out properly. Got my sports bra caught on the door knob to the bedroom, resulting in me nearly dropping and ninja catching my water bottle, which I obviously had left open to spray water everywhere. My preworkout has decided it’s no longer a fan of this planet and went rock solid, because that’s what you do when it’s your turn to work lol checkout. Shaking my intraworkout the top flips open and sprays fuzzy peach orangeness all over the damn place, and me of course. Sucks that the classes were cancelled!
BUT I had this really great conversation with a man from SDG&E who was waiting for the rest of the crew to arrive.
About how every summer the system is tested by the load peaking;exposing the vulnerable and weak points.
About how the crews are constantly working on identifying those points before something happens, and on containing and repairing when it does.
He told me that he has the 4th most dangerous job, that the overwhelming type of accident is electrocution and of those 99% were preventable but someone didn't carry out one or a few steps in the procedure.
So basically I missed Krav Maga classes but had a great conversation about things.... very related, in my opinion.
We talked about Prevention and Response, continuous Vigilance and Maintenance, the need to be Efficacious with resources, about how Discipline is crucial and that ultimately the safety of everyone relies on personal responsibility being taken by each.
