The joys of going on vacation can be summed up by having the freedom to do a 10 mile weekday run. This workout was 2 x 20 minutes at threshold pace with a 10 minute jog in between. Normally that would mean around 7:00 per mile. That’s exactly what I was able to maintain for the first 2 miles before the tiredness in my legs took over. The next 3 1/2 miles, or so, was done at around 7:25 pace. As my coach @mckirdytrained described to me earlier in the week, threshold pace isn’t simply a time based goal but is also dependent on how you feel. This was certainly a threshold effort the entire way. While I always strive to hit my goal paces I am happy with how this workout turned out. I stuck with it and didn’t quit when it got hard and maintained the integrity behind the session. 2 mile warmup and cool down also included in the total mileage.
Easy cheesy 3 miles with some strides this morning. But that’s not all for today....heading to Boulder tonight to race on a track for the first time EVER!! Should be interesting 😝 I’m super excited! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Zoom in and you’ll see the zits, the wrinkles and uneven skin tones. Deeper than that you may even see a woman with insecurities, anxieties and fears of what will happen in the future. But it’s me. All me. Unfiltered. .
It’s ok not to be perfect. It’s ok to be scared or anxious or whatever internal demon that plagues you. Let’s just try to be real with each other and empower one another to help each other see the amazing people that we are . That we are perfectly imperfect ❤️. .

After a week of grey skies and some intermittent rain, Perth has decided to return to its standard winter program. That is, blue skies and lukewarm temperatures. Perfect for running of course.
No turnover in my legs today, so more of a shuffle than run. But who cares when the weather is this good!
Whoever says you can’t get quality workouts at home, hasn’t done this program. Seriously in love with it. It also makes it so easy when you just want to be lazy, but know it only takes a walk to the next room and 40 minutes of work. Already seeing progress and it’s only day 3 of workouts.
I wouldn’t be passionate about something that I didn’t fully believe in. I believe in the product and the program, but more so myself.
Little #primeday purchase to make humid running more bearable 🙌🏼 // Shamelessly stalked @arboone11 on insta to find out what hydration vest I should get - because if that badass woman can crush miles with a smile it must be good. Verdict: light, comfortable, easy access to 1L of fluids. Boom. Thanks @ultimatedirectionusa - all smiles over here on the roads in Tokyo 👊🏼 #eatrunlovetravel#smile
I used to think I had to look a certain way to be “in” with Runners.
Or have a certain manner to lift weights.
And I’ve been running competitively over half my life.
I used to think I had to be married, on to more schooling, “on schedule” with everyone else’s life. .
We always have the thought of where we “should be” in our minds.
My point is...
If you are happy, giving it your all, doing something you love, with the people you love...
You are still succeeding.
You are still thriving.
You are still evolving.
And you are still living.
Living a life that is YOURS.
You’re doing amazing.
& I just wanted to remind you of that. 😘
Endorphins are magical 💫✨
Okay, so my vest slogan gets a bit specific. ‘When in doubt, MOVE’ doesn’t sound quite as catchy, and running is my jam anyway! But whatever your jam is - yoga, boxing, walking, swimming, eating actual jam - do it and MOVE and those magical endorphins will get to work on widening your grin to similar levels of cheesey as demonstrated above ⬆️
Flying through this Thursday! Today was 4 EZ miles + strides. I love, love, love strides. Today my strides averaged 7:25 which is slower than last time, but it was extra humid today. I’m not worried about it. I also wore my @altrarunning Paradigm 4.0 shoes today. I actually wore them for my 10 mile run on the TM last weekend, but I wasn’t crazy about them then, so I wanted to wear them again before I gave a review. I liked them MUCH more today. They have more cushion in them and are supposed to help with my ankle drop. I’ve been doing some ankle strength/mobility exercises that I found on @kimnedeau IG Page, and bought a “rock board” to give some extra stability and mobility options. Getting a gait analysis is very enlightening. I’m glad I had one done. Okay, have a great Thursday everyone!! #easyrun#monitorthebeat#runwithheart#runthisworld#igrunners#strides#islandrunner#altrarunning#tierrasunglasses#runlikeagirl#womenofrunning
6 easy miles this morning before the sun came up at 4:50am followed by a lift at the gym! I’m up to 105 pounds on my deadlift! Getting there! I’ve never run in the dark of the morning and it was a little scary, but my knuckle lights helped! It was neat to watch the sky light up for the day as I ran! Shower time and work! Make it a great day everyone! #teamrun4prs#teamzensah#run4prs#marathontraining#chicagomarathon#runnermother#igrunners
Yes, I’m smiling - not sure why😝Today’s run started out as a hot mess express and I’ve been on the struggle bus all week! I’ve been feeling run down since Monday, behind on sleep and throat scratchy/sore since Tues and now I’m getting a cough. Started taking over the counter meds yesterday and hopefully it will get better, not worse🙏🏼Being sick is the pits!! Had a fun track workout planned for today that I pre-loaded but I simply didn’t have the energy to push hard. Played it smart, went out for some easy miles with Sean and started to feel better after the first half. Still miles, still counts, still moving forward and staying strong👊🏻💕
